Well for me I'd love to see that Wonderland concept take up that Speedway. Or as a constolation prize, re theme that ride to Wreck It Ralph/Sugar Rush Racers which would better execute the transition from TL into FL. But won't happen. But like @Ignohippo said, after the SDMT opens, that's all she wrote.

Wow! That Sugar Rush idea for the Speedway is an awesome idea!!!!

I'd still rather see it replaced by a Cars 2 (race around the world) at DHS and the land at MK used for something entirely different (split between Tomorrowland and Wonderland). But if not, re-theming it to Sugar Rush would be amazing!

I'm all in favor of a Sugar Rush ride in DHS. That land in the WIR movie was stunning, so the theming could be fantastic! And think of the merch and concession stands...toys and candy would be a natural extension to the ride and could really add to the ambiece. Make it so, TDO!

So pretty much we are just waiting on the SDMT and Princess Fairytale Hall.

DHS should be next priority... First get rid of the hat... Second get rid of the backlot tour(never was good after the major revamp they did to it) and put that land to better use.

Yep waiting on PFH and SDMT. DHS will be their next priority. They will demolish backlot and LMA to make way for Carsland minus Luigi's or some verison of that extent for Carsland. Also, we will see new shows like Tangled stage show replacing BATB. This is all pretty much guaranteed to be announced at D23 in August. I'd love for them to get rid of that hideous hat too, but I just don't see that happening till further down the road.

The first priority at DHS should be to put something in Soundstage 1 (either the Monsters Inc door coaster or whatever) since that is currently backstage land and would increase capacity. Or convert the Sounds Dangerous space into an attraction (permanent Jedi Training Academy with AA Yoda?). Or re-open the Hunchback Theater to a full time venue.

Doing any/all of those things would then increase the the park's capacity such that closing Backlot Tour or LMA is not as big of a problem.

Unbelievably I have to agree that a Sugar Rush makeover for the speedway would be pretty dang cool. With the colors of Storybook Circus around the back end now (and no separation of Tomorrowland from that truly) I think it may even be a good way to bridge the two lands and not have it so striking of a difference as it is now... ESPECIALLY because the concept of Sugar Rush really fits that... a fantasy sugary sweet electronic video game that you can play inside (Fantasyland/Tomorrowland).

A new budget. That was before the rumors of a third gate and before the park received the huge boost from CarsLand.

I believe it was to include things like the Toy Story mini-land that has been added in Paris and Hong Kong.

DCA 3.0, or a phase "2", after Carsland opened was pretty much just pure fan speculation given that they spent around $1.1 billion on BVS/Carsland. Major investments that they no doubt want to see an return on investment.

DCA is also pretty small, and "land locked" with roadways around three sides and the esplanade to the north, I don't see where a Toy Story mini-land would go unless they demolished existing attractions, such as Bug's Life, even then I just don't see where it would go, and the small area left undeveloped for now is available more for a small Carsland addition at some point in the future.

I work for a new home builder. Occasionally we buy a "tear down" - a piece of crap house on an exceptional lot - which we demo and then build a 5000 sq. ft. home.
Demo is done in less than 48 hours, including completely clearing the debris. Up to two weeks if we are salvaging the bricks and selling them as reclaimed.

But the SWSA building was not demolished—it is in the process of being remodeled.

Immediately after SWSA closed, they started taking out the figures. They then had to take out the ride mechanics, take down drywall, likely knock down some walls and put up new walls, have a structural engineer supervise I would guess, obviously re-wire, install bathrooms for the face characters and probably guests too.

PFH is bigger than PFF, and since it was remodeling versus building a new structure, I am guessing that these are two reasons why it took longer. Plus, they might be utilizing artisans from other parts of FLE, and hence their schedule might have depended on when certain aspects of ETwB/Mermaid/BoG were completed.

PFF is pretty much the lone big construction project at DCA post Carsland opening.

They just finished the Tangled restrooms, my guess is that this crew will work on whatever bathrooms PFH has for guests or castmembers, and the crew that put on the finishing touches may also be now moving to PFH. I am guessing that it is cheaper to hire one crew for a year, then three different crews for four months so that PFH, Tangled restrooms, could open with ETwB/Mermaid/BoG at the same time.

If you take the time to read the posts, that's what they were saying. They were comparing the timetable of Fantasy Faire (what they thought was a complete demo) with Fairytale Hall (a remodel). Unfortunately, Fantasy Faire was a remodel as well.

Close but actually I was saying I thought Fantasy Faire was a brand new (add to empty space) vs. Fairytale Hall (which needed a demo before the new stuff). :)

Not true. The insiders here on this board and other Disney blogs (like blueskydisney) were saying a second phase was in the works.

But yes, CarsLand has been much more successful than they had expected (duh!), so I'm sure they have to be thinking they'll ride the wave for awhile – certainly no need to add more now. Also, their attention has now turned to creating a third gate.

While it does have some buildings that are new, the bulk of Fantasy Faire is not brand new construction either and uses existing buildings as well....

The building on the left is getting completely converted, the ones on the right are being used, but with a new facade and additional buildout put in front.

In this photo you see the former Carnation Theater on the left that has been converted to the new Fantasy Faire Theater...

We can't see how ornate and detailed the queue in the new Princess Fairytale Hall will be (and I'm sure it will be incredible), but it seems the construction at DL was much more extensive, especially considering they had a theater to convert as well.

Isn't that what I said? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to speak for you, but I thought I summarized what you were saying correctly.

Unfortunately though, much of Fantasy Faire was a remodel as well.

All sorts of options are evaluated for DLR, in an ongoing process. Carsland was a big hit, so no doubt they started looking at ways to build on that success, but that certainly doesn't mean it was planned. Remember, they cut the budget for DCA 2.0 to about 1.1 billion . . . kinda doesn't make a lot of sense to say that they're cutting DCA 1.0, but still plan on piling on hundreds of millions more into something else. They did spend some $ spiffing up Paradise Pier, but DCA 3.0 is a theoretical.

There have been a lot of rumors over the past year from the "insiders":

1. Iron Man at DL's Innoventions. Didn't happen.
2. Carsland coming to DHS. Hasn't happened yet even though the insiders said that the bulldozers would be going within months, never mind logistical problems at DHS.
3. Main Street alley in DL. Hasn't happened yet.
4. Third gate at DLR, yeah they've had those rumors for over a decade. Hasn't happened.
5. Monsters Inc. coaster coming right away to DHS. Hasn't happened.

This isn't true, there were plans of a "part two" of DCA's transformation.

WDI comes up with a lot of stuff, mostly I would guess in case they are asked to expand/improve some area of some park. Nothing was ever announced, and construction walls never went up, so its kinda farfetched that *all* of this stuff (Iron Man, Main Street alley) was just on the verge of being built and then somebody pulled the plug.

I would also speculate that Disney leaks stuff just to let the hardcore fans think, "we're not finished yet!", as a park that won't be changed for more than a couple years takes an edge off the excitement.

Part two was planned. They were planning, or are planning on expanding Hollywood Land and and there were some other things they were going to do.
