What's in YOUR park bag?

Just browsing around on here and gave some of my feelings on what to pack in your park bag, what kind of bag to carry, what NOT to carry...stuff like that...it got me to thinkin'...

Everyone's different...but what do You carry with you when touring? Anything unique? Anything special? What kind of bag do you prefer? Do you pack an entire expedition or do you do the metaphorical "park skin dive" with just your ticket and a wallet? Have any bad or good experiences w/ park bags?

I'll answer a little later with what I carry...but I just thought I'd see...figured this could be fun!

As mentioned before our backpack which I get to lug around becomes a mobile mini mart. The only item I did not see listed are lens wipes. Mainly to get rid of greasy smudges or water splashes on my glasses that are very annoying. Also work for cleaning camera lenses.

One Little Spark...
Oh, I've got a whole list.

Daypack

I have a daypack I've used for the past few years. It's a SwissGear shoulder slingpack, and I think it's perfect.

9317211937_a469dde76b_o.jpg

I attached a caribiner on the top loop, which allows me to attach it to a beltloop on my shorts for rides. I clip it on, and put the bag between my legs. Works great for rides like Rockin' Roller Coaster and Space Mountain!

I also added a small combination luggage lock to it, and what I like about this pack is that all the zippers zip "upwards"...so you can lock them all together.

It has three pockets, which makes it easy to isolate items / functions.

The contents are:

Rear Pocket (closest to my back)
[ ] Dental Kit (1 bottle of Listerine Spray, 2 Wisp One use Toothbrushes)

[ ] Eye Kit (1 bottle of contact friendly eyedrops, one contact case)

[ ] First Aid Kit (2 anti gas chews, 2 alka seltzer packets, 2 pepto tabs, 4 motrin, 10 princess band aids, 1 portable spray neosporin, 1 portable spray Benydril) I put this in a small plastic box that is a Johnson and Johnson portable first aid kit. Works perfectly.

[ ] One friction powered flashlight (great for during fireworks, or other dark spots...never know when you'll need some light!)

Not Pictured

[ ] Sunglasses

[ ] Spare regular Glasses

[ ] Spare Contacts

[ ] Engraved Disney luggage tag with contact information, in case I lose the bag and someone finds it.

Middle Pocket
[ ] Sony Cybershot DSC-WX50 - This is the camera I got for the 2012 trip, and I loved it. I have a 16 GB SD card in it. It takes 1080 video, and 16.4 Megapixel photos, and what's really nice is that it can take the calls WHILE it's shooting video. Love the camera, and it's coming back this year.

[ ] Hero3 Black - New camera this year. It replaces the Pentax WG-1 I took last year, which was a great camera but limited to 780 video, 33 ft of depth. I have various attachments for it, including the wrist, chest and head attachments. The kid may think I'm a bit of a nerd for wearing them...but the attachments are fantastic for on-ride photos and during experiences, without getting stuck "behind the viewscreen" taping the event. Outside of that, it will function for our waterpark, beach, etc...photos and videos.

[ ] Energizer "Energi to Go" powerpack (model XP4001). There's an internal pocket in this middle pocket that houses this well. I use it to charge my iPhone 5 and Cameras while in the parks. It is compatible with anything that will charge from a USB port, and has two ports, so I can charge simultaneously.

[ ] Targus TG-42TI mini tripod. It's small, but expands to 5 feet in height, and is also lightweight. This is a new addition to the Day Pack since my previous trips. We'll see how it fairs.

[ ] Small bag with charging cords for the iPhone 5 and the Sony Camera.

Not Pictured

[ ] Kids Poncho

[ ] Adult Poncho

For some reason, I can't find our Ponchos from last year. I called the Ex, and she confirmed I didn't send them back with the kiddo by mistake last year, so I'm not sure where they are. So, I'll buy two new ponchos when we get to Disney.

Front Pocket

[ ] A travel pack of Wet Ones brand antibacterial hand wipes (perfect for cleaning sticky fingers after eating a Mickey Ice Cream, or after eating a Turkey Leg while waiting on the 3p parade to start!)

[ ] A Pack of Gum

[ ] One Bottle of Dial Hand Sanitizer

[ ] One Notepad and Pen for jotting notes and playing paper games with the kid in lines

[ ] One Glad Snack Sized baggie filled with Pennies and Quarters for the Penny Machines

[ ] One Glad Snack Sized baggie for holding pins and locking pin backers for Pin Trading

I use one of the cross body Dooney and Bourke Disney bags. I don't use a wallet, I just take all of the unnecessary stuff out of my wallet at home before we leave and put the stuff I need in a pocket inside the purse, so basically debit card, credit card, cash, license, health insurance card. And I also bring with me my cell phone, sunglasses and aspirin. My camera goes in the purse depending on which camera I have. I don't have my own, so if I use my boyfriend's, that one fits in my purse, but if I'm using my mom's it goes around my neck and I just leave it there.

I have my favorite for all trips. Its a Vera Bradley shoot from the hip. A very small crossbody just big enough to hold my phone, camera, cards, money.

One word of caution... beware of bags with magnetic closures, though they aren't going to be as much of a problem now. Back in the day, I wiped my Key to the World card three times in one trip with the stupid magnetic closure on my purse. Back then, you had to go all the way back to your resort to get it fully recoded. Total pain. Thank goodness for RFID.

I have a North Face crossbody I love, but with which I had to stop traveling due to this. Wiped many a hotel key card.

It's a SwissGear shoulder slingpack

We have a couple of these (large and small-ish). I have never been able to use them in a way that I felt like it was a really great bag. I try them out every so often, but it always feels like everything falling out when I upzip.

here goes....my key to the kingdom card, cash, cell phone, & key to the room safe.

I don't do cameras any more I have enough pictures.
I grab a drink when I need it using a snack from QS meal plan.
If it rains I spend a couple of bucks on a poncho. Hell you'll spend the same $ for a drink which is gone in few minutes.

I don't need anything slowing me down.

Some of you guys are so prepared! I tend to keep it simple, I have a faux leather backpack from Target that is comfortably sized and fits everything. I normally wind up with the typical stuff, room key, cash, ID. Then I have sunblock, normally SPF 50, chapstick, and hand sanitizer. Baby wipes are also in there because they're perfect for cleaning that half melted ice cream off of your hands. Advil, tums, bandaids and most importantly gum. You can't buy it on site so I stock up. There's nothing worse than having gross breath and not being able to do anything about it.

I used to carry a medium sized (approx. 6" x 8" x 2") cross-body bag to the parks. I packed it with a ton of stuff that we "might" need in a day at the parks. After 5 trips (6-7 days each) I realized that we *never* used 99% of the stuff I was carrying around "just in case". When we went to Disney this past June, I used a tiny crossbody bag -- about the size of a deck of cards. I put my phone, a little cash, credit card, ID, KTTW cards for the family, one cheapy rain poncho (for me...no one else in the family has any desire to wear one), a few band-aids, lip gloss, and a few tissues in it. I had a small bottle of sunscreen on a carabiner clip that I attached to the strap . I had my sunglasses on a sport strap so if I didn't need them on they just hung around my neck. My husband had his wallet and he carried the point & shoot camera in a case in his pocket. My bag was small enough that I could fit it in my pocket (I would attach the sunscreen to a belt loop) and avoid having to go through security every morning. That saved us at least 10 minutes every day. It's probably as close to "no bag" as I will ever get as I don't want to have to worry about things falling out of my pockets. It was a truly liberating feeling to not carry a bag full of stuff we never used. I knew that if there was anything we needed (like medications, larger band-aids, etc.) we could get them at almost any store in the parks (if you don't see it, ask for it -- they keep a lot of stuff behind/under the counter) and decided it wasn't worth carrying things I didn't absolutely need.

I ALWAYS have 3-4 sandwich size ziplock bags. You never know when you will need one and they protect the phone/camera/money from water rides or rain.

We always carry a backpack with camera, sunscreen, phones, ponchos, snacks, meds and an extra pair of socks. We have gotten more use out of the extra pair of socks than i could have ever imagined. We usually do not leave the parks if it rains but nothing is worse than when the rain stops and your feet are soaking wet. Or if you get on splash and get soaked(like I always do) and cant keep up with everybody because you are getting blisters from having wet socks on...

I use a Piazza Day Bag exactly like this one:
ebags-piazza-day-bag_4960_500.jpg

Great space inside it, full of pockets and water resistant.

Inside it I carry:
Small can of spray sun blocker FPS 70
Lipstick and mascara
A small package of baby wipes
Sunglasses case
Wallet with some money, CCs and our KTTW card
laminated copy of our passports (worth for nothing, I KNOW that, but at Disney I choose not to carry the real thing)
Two bottles of water (side pockets)
PP+ card attached to the strap and tucked into one of the outside pockets
Small notepad and pen (NEVER leave home without it.
Headache and backache medicine
Band-aids
Camera
Bag of Skittles or equivalent
Phone charger
Hard copy of ADR's planned for that day.
