Without experiencing EE first hand as of yet, I will say that without a doubt, ToT has some of the best examples of theming.

There is so much detail that we all take for granted. Thousands work by the board game in the lobby. People don't realise that that boardgame is the result of actually two people playing. So far into the game, the imagineers said "STOP". The legend is that one of the players said, "...but I am one move away from winning!" to which the imagineers said, we want the game to be that you had to stop what you were doing and flee the hotel. So apparently that game is incomplete just one move away from being won. Also the props in the preshow rooms are all full of references to episodes of The Twilight Zone spanning 5 decades. Taking aside all the ageing work done to the walls and the furniture, all the dust and the boiler room etc... the performance of 'Rod Serling's appearence' is just believable, despite it being a lookalike and a voice over.

It's just a shame DL's ToT isn't quite to the same standard, as DLPs isn't expected to be either (opens Oct 2007). However, expect great things from Tokyo's, opening very soon!!!

One other thing I find it particularly well themed is DLPs Adventureland, by far the best Adventureland of our parks.

Have a Disney day!

I say Animal Kingdom if you take the time. You can really soak it up as it surrounds you. Animal Kingdom always has a real Atmosphere to me. Not that every place does not but AK really has a lot of those "You may not notice them but if they were not there you would miss them" kind of props and scenary.

To me, Tower of Terror has the best theming for a ride, even better than Expedition Everest. The whole set up is carried through till the end.

It's a great thread, IMO theming is what seperates Disney from the other amusement parks. IF you go to six flags or Cedar point there themes are so poorly done or non-existent. Busch Gardens does an alright job but still falls far short of Disney. The Wilderness Lodge and the Animal Kingdom Lodge IMO are the best examples of theming on property. I agree with the TOT and I think Big Thunder and Splash Mountain are really well done as well. Typhoon Lagoon is pretty darn cool too!!

While Disney has always paid very close attention to every detail to emerse their guests completely into a perfect theame, I'd have to say that I am still most impressed by everything at AK. Not only the buildings and decor are authentic, but they've even gone furthur to include animal tracks in the cement, smells, sounds and other things to complete the theame. That to me is why I take more photos at AK than the other parks.

For Me, it's the following places:

Ft. Wilderness
ToT
Indania Jones (DL)
Everest
DL's Fantasyland (boy we need a Fantaslyland Renisance like they had!)
Thunder Mountian
Splash Mountain
Test Track
Mission:Space
ittbab
Kali

There's more, but those are my Favorites.

I would say that the best themed park is AK. I enjoy just walking around it, and I see something new everytime. ToT is in my opinion the best themed attraction by far. I dont even remember how many times Ive been on it, but I am still terrified of that ride, and the themeing has a lot to do with that.

AK, Harambe, in particular, but also the area around E:E. I think the detail is incredible.

I agree with the above post re: Adventureland too. Something about the vegetation is really transportive.

I know it's not Disney but I loved the queue for The Mummy at US.

Disneywise I love ToT, I'm looking forward to seeing Everest though!!

It is so hard to pick, but some of my favorites are:

Tower of Terror
Expedition Everest
World Showcase (okay, this is broad, but aren't the countries great?)
The Polynesian
Animal Knigdom Lodge
Port Orleans Riverside (still Dixie Landings in my book)
Typhoon Lagoon (I really do feel like I am somewhere tropical)
Disney's Winter Summerland mini golf
Boma's
Adventurer's Club
Stormalong Bay (between Yacht and Beach Club)

I could probably go on and on, but that would take too long.

This one is easy.

Dino Land USA

No, i'm not kidding, I think it is brilliant...

I also like all of Africa as well, especially the village.

My vote would go to the entire Mexican Pavillion in Epoct. If you have ever been in there, all you have to do is close your eyes and you can remember little details about the pavillion. You really feel like you're spending an evening in Mexico even though it's 2pm outside with the sun beating down on you.

I got to say that Blizzard Beach is the coolest themed water park.

Sci Fi Dinner is one of the best themed Restaurants.

and the Poly is the best themed Resort.
