Without experiencing EE first hand as of yet, I will say that without a doubt, ToT has some of the best examples of theming.
There is so much detail that we all take for granted. Thousands work by the board game in the lobby. People don't realise that that boardgame is the result of actually two people playing. So far into the game, the imagineers said "STOP". The legend is that one of the players said, "...but I am one move away from winning!" to which the imagineers said, we want the game to be that you had to stop what you were doing and flee the hotel. So apparently that game is incomplete just one move away from being won. Also the props in the preshow rooms are all full of references to episodes of The Twilight Zone spanning 5 decades. Taking aside all the ageing work done to the walls and the furniture, all the dust and the boiler room etc... the performance of 'Rod Serling's appearence' is just believable, despite it being a lookalike and a voice over.
It's just a shame DL's ToT isn't quite to the same standard, as DLPs isn't expected to be either (opens Oct 2007). However, expect great things from Tokyo's, opening very soon!!!
One other thing I find it particularly well themed is DLPs Adventureland, by far the best Adventureland of our parks.
Have a Disney day!
