I would have to say that ToT at MGM, Indiana Jones in Disneyland, and Typhoon Lagoon have the most thorough themeing. I guess I like the 'old and abandonded' look and I think Disney has done it best at those three locations.
hey, i cant say i dont agree with you.US really do theme well but disney are always just that little bit further up.i too loved the queue for the mummy, and i think that the queue for dueling dragons is amazing.but i always find something that tops them at disney.

Actually, I think the themeing issue is really interesting, especially when you compare DAK to MK. I personally think some of the areas of MK (particularly Adventureland pre-Aladdin and the remodeled TL) are the best. DAK almost goes too far for me. Epcot and MK were built to "feel" correct. They give the feeling of what they are showing, but it is not always "true." DAK goes a step farther and really goes for realism. That's tough, and the result is really beautiful. What I mean by too far is that the sense of fantasy is almost lost because it is so realistic.
I think it's neat that Disney has executed both of these versions of "authentic" and "immersion" well.
And, back to topic at hand, I have to go with Horizons as the best themeing. Those scenes were just awesome IMHO.
I think DAK as a whole has some of the most amazing themeing on property.
Specifically though, some of my favorite places in WDW are:
1.) Harambe, Africa in DAK.---The realism and attention to detail is truly stunning. From the village to the Safaris, Pangani, to the Tusker House restaurant(Possibly the best part of all... for anyone who hasn't done it before, just take a stroll in and around that restaurant and you'll see Disney themeing at its best.)
2.) Wilderness Lodge.---Truly felt like I was somewhere entirely different. Really felt like I was up north in a lodge somewhere, not a Disney hotel in Orlando Florida.
3.) Splash Mountain, Tower of Terror, and the Origional Kilimanjaro Safaris.---In my opinion these are the best and most complete overall ride experiences.
i really think that it all about imersion when it comes to theming.
particularly on rides, taking a quote from joe roeding (i think thats how you spell it) himself,"we imagineers are story tellers, only we dont write our storys we show them through objects and environment".
that is what, to me, makes the theming disney for rides so cool.
and its not just the objects that are around or the arcitecture, yes they are part of it,but for me what makes a great, imersive queue is the sounds, effects and smells aswell as the objects.
i dont think that TOT would be the same without the eerie nineteen twenties music echoing through the queue or if the mist in the gardens wasnt there,it just wouldnt feel right to me.
its the same with mission :space,if the cool enginey type rumble and the mission control speal wasn't on,i would'nt be convinced that this was a space training facility.
does anyone else feel this way or have i just babbled on for ages about nothing.
For some incredible theming and architecture, take a look at the Tree of Life. All of DAK is pretty much incredible, even Camp Minney-Mickey isn't so bad.
In no particular order (and I haven't seen Everest yet):
Tower of Terror, Splash Mountain, inside the Mexico Pavilion (you are outside, right? ), Animal Kingdom as a whole (except for Dino-Land), Brown Derby and the entrance to MGM
I'm sure there's more but that's just off the top of my head
