I'm contemplating taking a tour when I go in September. I was just wondering what the thoughts were on what tour youd think would be good or worth it.

My 15 year old son, my 10 year old daughter and I did the Aqua Seas Tour last August and loved it.

My wife and 17 year old daughter did the Segway Tour of Epcot and loved that.

It's all in my trip report below if you want more details.

I think it depends a lot on your interests. I took the Keys to the Kingdom tour with my family and we really enjoyed it but it is a bit of money and isn't something that would interest everyone. I've heard lots of people say the trains tour is fantastic but I don't think it's something that would interest me.

Take a look at the tours offered and then perhaps ask some questions about ones that sound good to you?

Around the World at Epcot Segway tour is good as you have some time to ride the segways through World Showcase

And the UnDISCOVERed Future World Tour is interesting as you see how the park works and go behind the scenes of park attractions.

I'm hoping for my next trip to do the Backstage Magic Tour which goes to 3 parks MK, DHS & Epcot.

I have done a lot of tours but I would say hands down, the most informative and neat learning tour is Behind the Seeds at The Land. Plus its only like $18 or so. I learned so much and even got paperwork on where Disney gets all of their materials for doing hydroponics. Kids like it too. Can't beat an hour to hour and a half tour for so little money.

After 35+ trips to WDW my wife and I did the Keys to the Kingdom tour. Now, I consider myself to be well informed about Walt's history and the history of the parks and we really enjoyed this tour. It was informative and entertaining. But, what a PP said, look at what each tour offers and what your interests are and go from there.

I want to do the "Behind the Seeds" tour, because it's less costly and time consuming - but, I can't convince my wife to let us...

Done the Epcot Segway Tour (2times); Wilderness Lodge Area Segway HD Segway Tour (Once); Keys To Kingdom (Once); and some new tour last season in MK that was about Walt's home town. Can't remember the name of it...

Segway's are very KEWL if you have a little balance. If you are clumsy...you may have an issue.

Keys was very good, but I'd bet your tour guide has a lot to do with it.

New tour from last year, well it was ok...but price was right...it was low per person. Could tell it was new...our guide was a little rough.

Wife and I have thought about the Back Stage Magic Tour but I'm not sure. It's a little pricey. But with Disney Visa there is prolly a discount. BSM is that the one where they show you the costumes and flowers? Or am I mixing it up with another tour?

Steam engine tour - I may like it but not sure the wife would want to do that one.

I think our Keys and Segway tours were our best fun vs. cash spent.

GOOD LUCK!

If you like Epcot - do the Hidden Secrets of World Showcase Tour. It is really incredible how much detail was put into each country that you would just pass by otherwise. We found it really interesting. :)

I just visited the World, staying at AKL, and went on the "Backstage Safari" tour at AK park. They take you to the buildings that house the animals, and
we even got to pet a White Rhino who had the "day off" from going on stage, pretty cool. We also got to visit the kitchen , seeing the animals meals being prepared, and got to visit the vet hospital, actual walked thru one of the operating rooms, and got a chance to ask questions and speak to the animal caretakers. Our guide Sara was very good. It was a very educational experience!!!!!!

Done both Keys To The Kingdom and Undiscovered Future World, and really enjoyed both tours. I can't recommend them enough.

THIS. I had a great time, as did my girlfriend on the Segway tour. She did manage to run herself over and scrape up her knee though  In the end it was all fun! In all seriousness though, they are quite easy to ride and a great way to experience the park, and a new method of getting around if you haven't ridden a Segway before.

In terms of Backstage Magic, we had a great experience, I'd definitely recommend it if you have interest in the behind the scenes magic that makes Walt Disney World what it is. Contrary to popular belief, I didn't find that taking the tour makes the parks any less magical, if anything it made them more fascinating to me.

I also had the opportunity to do the Wild Africa Trek in February last year, and it was very much worth the cost. You get up close and personal to hippos and get to cross a rope bridge over crocodiles which was neat! If you or someone in your party is squeamish over food though, I'd recommend eating up prior to the tour. The food is quite "exotic", though very good. You will need to ensure that anything you bring can be securely fastened to your person. There are lockers, which I seem to recall were free, prior to the trek. In practice this meant ensuring you have neck straps for your camera equipment. In order to prevent you from needing to carry a water bottle Disney provides a stainless steel water bottle with carabiner to help you keep hydrated over the trek. This trek also includes a coupon code for a free photo cd. It will also work to get any other photo pass photos burned to this CD for free and mailed to you after your vacation.

My next vacation I plan on doing Behind the Seeds as I really enjoyed seeing the technology Disney and the Department of Agriculture demonstrate in The Land.

I'm sure whichever tour you take you will enjoy greatly! Have a good trip!

A nice tour to take is " Behind the Seeds " tour at Epcot"s Land Pavillion. My wife wanted to do it on our recent trip for her birthday and i have to admit it was a very good tour! Not too long just around and hour, not expensive to do and presented in a fun and very informative way. Our son also enjoyed it.

Is this the same tour that includes a view of the "war wagon" in American Adventure? Also, anyone know the approx. cost of the tour? Thanx.

I've done the Segway Tour in Epcot & the Keys to the Kingdom tour. I loved both of them & would recommend both. I preferred the Keys to the Kingdom tour, mainly because it was longer & had more information about little secrets. The Segway Tour I wished was a little bit longer, but it's definitely worth doing. I'm extremely clumsy, so I was nervous. I was a little shaky during training, but once I got the hang of it, it was easy.

I did the Steam Train tour...if you are a buff of locomotives (especially those of the classic age), check it out. Fairly cheap and my tour consisted of only 5 people (not including the guide). We got into the MK before anyone else and they were still working on the maintenance (so we got some pics with the Disney p/u trucks on Main St).

They take you backstage to the train and monorail barn. Very cool to see everything getting going before the MK opens.

Only thing is that buses do not run this early (nor do the monorails, ferries or launch boats) so you have to park at the Contemp and hoof it over before 7 AM
