What would you like to see replace Circle of Life?

Well, as dated as it is, I would also like to see a Disney-earth style film. It would be epic.

But the theme of conservation vs destruction is an important one, and man is one of the biggest culprits.

Perhaps a film on global warming would be in order.

Something on global warming would be nice. I love Science Fiction!

Perhaps something on extinction due to environmental abuse then? Or maybe a piece on alternative energy or farming to demonstrate what happens after we suck the planet dry?

I understand certain topics are still up for debate, but the film should show the damage we do and how it could be prevented.

I still can't see the connection with The Land. The Land is a living greenhouse. You can't just pop an attraction right there- well, you can, I've yet to met one that can connect Soarin' to The Land.

Soarin' = airport.
Wall-E movie = Buy N Large promotion

Why would they put an airport in the middle of a research facility? And why Buy N Large would promote themselves too, when they helped to destroy Earth's nature?

I'm interested on how Food Rocks truly "connected" with The Land, or how Circle of Life really "connects". Food Rocks = rock concert and Circle of Life = Lion King promotion.

Soarin' has been a stretch in a way, but we are soarin' over something and it is the land and sea we call home. It captures the beauty of The Land and how the people are interacting with it whether that is surfing, farming, skiing, etc.

Anyways, sure a new idea for the Circle of Life would be nice. In fact, gut the whole area and replace it with something more than just a film, but I was just thinking realistically and something easy that Disney could do.

Please tell me your still not buying into this scam?
Hey, my beliefs are not up for debate. Lots of people believe in forces they can't see. In fact, much of the world does in one way or another. I just thought it would be interesting. I thought we were talking about a film idea.

If you don't like the idea, propose another! But I won't engage in what is a philosophical debate on this topic further. It is out of place and belongs where conversations on politics and religion belong. Locked.

Why? Why should it be so negative? Epcot has always been about a positive look at the future not a negative look at the present.

Well, I could see that. But what would the look be? I am just curious, not trying to be rude.

But I could certainly see taking a more positive Disney-style approach.

Fuel cell driven cars, gene manipulation to make larger crops to feed more people, renewable energy sources, planting of a tree for every one cut down even the hippie hybrid stuff. All positive things that Re going on right now that could be advanced it the future.

Good Lord, Bonnie's outift and backdrop curtain are frightening.

But back to Circle of Yawns, just about anything would be a better replacement. IMO, no WDW attraction that is film based should be just a ordinary film and nothing else. At least the Walt Disney Story had the epic wide 2.67:1 aspect ratio and the exhibits before the show like One Man's Dream.

OK, I'm sold. Even on the "hippie" stuff:)

I think you could use Figment if we're imagining a better future...but I'm a sucker for Figment getting a bigger, better role in the parks.

Is there room for an IMAX screen in that theatre?

Yea GW could be real or not but Disney usually stears clear of these topics any way. I don't think there is room for Imax but maybe they could go 3D? Then I'd like to see some new characters host it maybe the never usedHoot the Owl from the never built Western River Expansion in MK. But a positive look at us learning to live with the land is the way to go IMO..

The 3d could work well especially for scenesthat show what could happen if we don't take care of the earth for example a storm scene that could also spray water on the audience.

I'd be all for bringing Wall-E in.

Disney Earth is an inferior version of Planet Earth. Really kind of an embarrassment, given how good Planet Earth was. I don't think they should use that.

Wall-E film with the pilot narrating (forgot name) and Wall-E demonstrating eco-friendly Eve.

That'd get me interested in being 'green'.

:)

I find this topic and film extremely humorous given that Disney built on acres of swamp and wetlands causing enticement of an enormous amount of development over central florida. Don't get me wrong I am not an environmental whacko and I love Disney! It just strikes me as funny while I watch Timon and Pumba dam up that river for their resort and my butt is sitting there watching it on land that suffered a similar fate.

Honestly, I wish they'd kept Kitchen Kabaret/Food Rocks, built Soarin' on the other side of The Land, and used the Harvest Theater space as the entrance.

No Wall-e!!! Why does every single attraction have to have an existing character in it? Why can't they do something original anymore?
