What would you do?

So, we're going to WDW for 6 nts/7days, so I decided to get MYW tickets for 6 days. Obviously, Day 1 and Day 7 are travel days, but I figured we'd at least get in some park time on Day 1 if things at least run semi-close to on time (i.e. we land at MCO around 10:30am). Day 7 on the other hand offers very little time to get to a park, let alone do anything in one, so I didn't plan anything more than TS breakfast that morning.

In any event, DH thinks it's silly that I booked tickets for Day 1...especially since we're going to have to head back to the hotel at some point for nap time (for our girls) before heading out to our 7:30 dinner reservations. Plus he brought up the ugly subject of flight delays and other issues that could cut our day even shorter. But-If the MYA ticket calculator is correct, it's only a matter of $15 - so for that- I think it's a better bet to hope for the best and try to get a little bit of park time day 1.

So, what would you do? Would you keep it at 6 days of tickets or cut it back to 5?

I'll back what MontyMon wrote. You can always add that extra day. I could be wrong, but I believe you could even add that extra day at your resort, if the front desk isn't too busy (or less busy than agents at the parks).

You can do it always at the front desk, even if they are busy. We did it at the Wilderness Lodge, two more additional days, it took far less than 5 minutes.

We're staying at Wilderness Lodge and dinner is at Chef Mickey's that first night shortly after park closing-- so going to MK, even for a short while, makes a lot of sense in my mind. The kids will be 2 and 4 at trip time. THe 4 yr old can make it without a nap and probably would be too excited to sleep and the 2 yr old is thankfully a child who will sleep in a stroller - so, we've got that all to work with as well.

On our trip two years ago we stayed at the BC and just hung around the pool and the Boardwalk on our first day. On our last trip we stayed at the WL and headed straight to the MK to get in a few rides and watch Spectomagic. It was much more of an exciting and magical way to start the trip! I recommend getting the extra day.
