What would you do with CoP?

Keep it open unless their is a major E-Ticket (or something that would bring in a lot of people) in the works for the CoP space.

I am guessing there is something in the works for this space...I say put a new ride there and move Carousel to Main Street w/ the original version Walt made (I don't like the final scene at all...it takes away from the feel of the rest of the ride IMO...

That's a good idea to move it into Main Street. I've believed they should move it to Epcot, but I like your idea better.

Well what I would do is make a building that covers over CoP. Inside the building would be a resturant along of a tour of Walts vision and other things that involve Walt. There would be a gift shop of course As they go threw the tour they would end it with a updated version of Cop. I'm thinking more like a pavalion just not quite as big. I think it would draw more attention and really they should advertise on the videos!

IMHO, I would keep COP. However, I've read that one of the major problems with the ride is the system underneath and that it would be very expensive to referbish and fix it. That being said, here is my suggestion for the ride.

Disney imagineering are masters at their craft. Instead of having the theather move around the different scenes, why not redo it so that the scenes are the things that are moving. Put them on a turn table. Surely, Imagineering can create the illusion that the entire theatre is moving when, in actuality, the only thing moving would be the turn table that the set sits on.

I know you are all gonna hate me for saying this, but maybe it should go altogether. I can appreciate that is historically an important attraction and one of the only ones still standing from Walt's day, but surely if that was the criteria for keeping attractions in the park, the parks would never be updated.

The top dogs at Disney look at facts and figures, and if the general public are voting with their feet and not visiting the attraction enough, the only cost effective thing to do is to close it and use the space for a more modern attraction.

I understand the sentimentality over the attraction, but put it in a museum and use the space for a brand new attraction.

I'd have to say I'm definitely in favor of the Walt and WDW progress idea, sounds like an interesting concept that could rake in some pretty heavy ridership (especially if it was only for a short period of time, say one year. Too bad they couldn't have done it earlier to make it a part of the 100 yrs celebration.

The CoP needs to stay! It is such a vital piece of history to Walt Disney World. I even hated when they changed the song from "Now is The Time" to "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow"!

The problem with CoP is that people don't try it. They pass over it, because they don't know it. And it is not in the best location either

People here SHOULDN'T want "it's a small world" to close. Why? That means THEY don't like it...ages on the forum who "hate it" range from I suppose to some around 14 on...yet, I love the ride...it's not made for them specifically...!!!

It SHOULD stay open not only due to Walt's influences, but also because WDW wouldn't be complete without it. It's for the kids...most kids love it. And, oh boy...you have to admit that even though the song does drive some people nuts, it's very catchy with them young 'uns.

Therefore, if, in general, a few people don't like the attraction, it's OK. They are made for people with different tastes...just because I hate Broccolli (no offense to the "Cha Cha Cha! Veggie" at Kitchen Kabaret ), that doesn't mean that it should be never be grown again...

For the first time ever, I agree with grizzly.

Some rides simply will never go away because they are SO associated with DL and WDW. Small world is one of those. I'm not sure of CoP could be put in this class, but it sure would be close. Personally, I say take it out, onlybecause i think you could put something new and great in that space. I don't think another coaster is needed there (they have enough for now), but i think something along the lines of CoP perhaps, detailing the progress of inventions through time.....

COP should stay as it is, but then I didnt want to lose Mr. Toad, horizons, The skyway, and World of Motion, and even though I love Space Ranger Spin, I wish they had been able to keep Dream Flight

It would be wonderful if they could just update CoP and leave it where it is. But, if repairs to correct current problems are too expensive, then I agree that it should stay within MK, if not Tomorrowland, then Main Street. CoP has just too much "Walt" in it, and while updating the ride would make it more appealing, the basic storyline needs to stay the same.

well, i am 14 years old... 15 in april!! and i still like its a small world... even though the song does get annoying such as it does on COP... but still they shouldn't be closed just because someone hates it... my opinion... i dont want no one flaring up on me now
