Anyone else notice something a little odd when you click that link? He listed this vehicle as a "pixar ride."

If there's one thing I miss more than '80s Future World EPCOT, it's the sounds of Mark IV doors opening and closing. You could hear when the CM was coming down towards your car as the doors closing got louder and louder.

I too miss those sounds. To me, it felt kind of special to have the indirect interaction with the CM's.

I think it would be cool as a food truck. But, instead of ordering from an outside window, you have to enter from one side, place an order at a "bar", and then exit out the other side. Then, patrons still get to experience the door swoosh.
That's actually a brilliant idea...Make it into a food "truck" and serve the popular dishes from the monorail resorts.

I would probably just restore it to it's original look, seeing as it's a peice of DIsney history and I wouldn't want to see it go to waste. In my opinion, it should go to a museum, not a private collector.
What museum? A WDW museum that doesn't exist and would never get funded and im this climate likely will not?

They had 4 of these in a warehouse over a decade then realized the carrying cost had no benefit. And I think this private collector now realizes the same thing.

It's like an airplane. A lot of people can afford to buy an airplane. It's the cost of parts, maintenance, and pilots that kills you

Except the doors on those trains went "click" and "slam".

I think it would be a good addition to the Smithsonian American History Museum. It has other Disney stuff. Size might be an issue, That building is pretty big, but it is pretty full..

This was my first thought! I would love to do that.

The guy who put the monorail up for auction, actually bought it last May for $40,000, from a store in Orlando that specializes in Disney Memorabilia. He said that if He doesn't get a buyer than He is going to move it cross country on a flatbed truck to California, where He lives. This was in an article in today's Orlando Sentinel. So if He gets anything close to $160,000, than I'd say it's a pretty good return on His investment.
