What would Walt say if he saw the state of Disney World today? Would he be happy, sad, mad? We are the closest thing to Walt when you think about it TDO doesnt care about attractions an Parades an little details that fans love, they care about generating a profit! What happened to it was always started by a mouse? Not by a cash register an a parking stub that costs $14.00

Walt never would have imagined what Disney World has become. He would have bankrupt the company with his version of Epcot.

Disney World is what it is now because of one man, Micheal Eisner, and the reality is, Disney World is his baby where Disneyland is Walt's.

Personally, I think he would say magic kingdom in its current state is a park that can be a lot more. If you compare it to Disneyland, there's a lot magic kingdom can add to make it better and bigger like Disneyland. Course Walt died before he could plan out magic kingdom, so they simply made it a cut down version of Disneyland. What's even more perplexing is that with all the land there, its a wonder why so much was left out. Least now their making a big addition finally to fantasyland. I still feel a lot more can be done and think that would be one of his things he would want changed. Of course next would be epcot. That's definetly a no brainer.

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, is cheap anymore. If you can't afford Disney don't go. Your complaint just sounds like sour grapes.

Exactly.

To say that they don't care is simply stupid. They DO care!

I'm sorry, but Eisner doesn't deserve to be missed. I'm not trying to discredit him, but he did more bad than good during the latter of his time as CEO and had to be ousted.

I agree that he did save the company from being broken apart in the 1980's and early 90's.

But the cold hard fact that his partner Frank Wells got killed in 1994 lead to Eisner allowing his ego to get the best of him, resulting in him running amok through the company, doing all sorts of bad things (shutting down 2D animation; alienating the company's relationships with Pixar, Lucas, Spielberg, etc.).

History can have a tendency to repeat itself and it most certainly did in the early 2000's, with Eisner sending the company back down the tubes to a bad position similar to what it was in before he took over the company.

Iger is still working really hard to reverse Eisner's mistakes and should be applauded for it.

I think Walt would be thrilled that I still visit his parks as often as I do and that I love every single minute that I am there. In the end, that probably is all he really wanted. I think Walt was also pragmatic enough to realize that you will never be able to please everyone.

It is too bad he never got the chance to see WDW as it is today :(:( I'm sure there would be things he would change but over all I think he would be very pleased.

I often think of this myself. On one hand, you've got the world's greatest tourist destination and the ultimate Vacation Kingdom, which is what Roy wanted to have in tribute to his brother. You've got innovative attractions, long-time classics, and general awesomeness.

On the other hand, it completely misses a lot of what Walt wanted. Sure, we all know he didn't want a clone of Disneyland in the MK (but eventually gave in to it), but I can't help but think that he would be drastically disappointed with the fact that his version of EPCOT never came to fruition. A lot of his creative, futuristic vision is all lost. No more future city, electric vehicles, circular-city-designed.

So all in all, I think he'd be proud of what is there, but he might be disappointed that HIS vision never happened.

I think on many levels he would be happy....that so,e of his charecters are so loved. That Disney has become a venacular in american society. That WDW is loved by so many. WDW was more to him then a money making machine, it was the next thing on his list of acheivments. FFor him it was about creating. I am sure he enjoyed a profit like the next guy....but if you study his history he often was broke. borrowed begged to make things happen.

In other ways I think he would be dissapointed, I think he would be disapointed there are no longer a family member actively involved with the buisness. I am not so sure he would be so happy that the Disney company has become this huge gargantuan conglomeration of a company. Would he want to own ESPN...ABC....etc. He also cared about the people who worked for him. A tqask master ? yes... but cared deeply for the cast members. He cared deeply about the "show". A meticulus creator to a fault. Over all....if he could see what it all has become.....I think he would simply be speechless.

Tough to say. Society has changed so much since Walt passed. What passes for family entertainment might shock him when it comes to tv, but I think he would be proud that the average Americn family considers his park a place to spend time together. He was about the American family. That would certainly make him proud.

I honestly think Disney Would would be in the same state as it is today because Walt Disney would have moved on to another project and a whole other park by now. But all the origional attractions would probably be long gone by now.
