What would Walt say if he saw the state of Disney World today?

Walt never would have imagined what Disney World has become. He would have bankrupt the company with his version of Epcot.

Disney World is what it is now because of one man, Micheal Eisner, and the reality is, Disney World is his baby where Disneyland is Walt's.

It scares me when I agree with Jimmy, but he's right in this case.

My wife and I were just out and got on to discussing the current state of WDW. The biggest news is the FLE, and all we're really gaining is 1 attraction. Epcot (Future World) is an absolute mess, both in terms of what there is to do and show quality. AK needs more, but what they have I think is great. Same goes for DHS.

Now, none of us knew Walt, but I've read a couple of biographies about him, and my guess is, he'd be happy overall, but things that would upset him are lots of land in the theme parks that remain dormant or unused for years. And honestly, that's WDW's biggest problem - Wasted space in the theme parks.

I think the biggest issue he would have is the fact that so many attractions are left to run with multiple major show elements broken down. None of us really know Walt, but it sure seems to me he was a real stickler for the "show". The state of some of the attractions I think would be really upsetting to him.

I still love Ellen's Energy Adventure, even with all the missing screens and the "state" of the attraction.

The fact is, I really don't have a clue what Walt would say (but the "Duffy" response is great and pretty imaginative!):ROFLOL:

Walt would say, "Seriously, 'it's a small world' is still open? Can't we put Zs on the dolls and give people Buzz Lightyear blasters or something? Let's step forward, people. I dreamed up the ride myself in about 15 minutes as a lark back in the 60s, and even I'm bored to tears on it. Ugh."

A lot of people drove Walt Disney World to completion.

Generally speaking, Roy Disney made it his goal to initially open the resort along with the Magic Kingdom.

Card Walker saw Epcot Center through as it changed from a city of tomorrow to more of a World's Fair, still retaining a lot of elements of the original concept, only translating them differently.

And Eisner and co saw the rest of the resort explode into what we know it as today. Which was awesome.

Who's to say Walt wouldn't have gone through with the conversion from city to theme park as it did? That's the whole thing that he loved about Disneyland: if it didn't work, you could always change it.

He was surrounded by guys like his brother who knew how to turn his visions into feasible realities. To say he would have bankrupted the company is a stretch.

If Walt Disney was to walk around Walt Disney World, He would be impressed of what it has become, however, he would point out the current flaws for the 4parks.

Magic Kingdom: He would definitely like this park, But he would probably add more, and make sure the entertainment has changed, He would probably be impressed with the Current Firework Shows (And MMY).

Epcot: He would like the fact that his main reason for WDW became a reality, just in a different form. However, If he did come back today, He would revert the Imagination area back (If he would of seen the original), He would get rid of Ellen, and revert the Old Effects back in UoE (with updated information), Add more to M:S.
As for World Showcase, He would make sure there was One E-Ticket back there now.

Disney's Hollywood Studios: He would walk around the park, Probably like the idea of the park, but would hate how its been executed. If he has seen DCA, He would order the DCA Treatment on DHS.

Disney's Animal Kingdom: He would love the fact that his original idea for Jungle Cruise, has become a Full-Fledge Park. However, He would demand more in the park (Beastly Kingdom). He would also look for a way for Nighttime Entertainment there.

So, I think Walt would be impressed of what became of "The Florida Project", but he would definetly come in and improve whats already there.
