What/Who at Disney do you think should get more credit or recognition?

Iam a STRONG believer Micheal Eisner does not get the credit he deserves for turning around a company that was dying.

Eisner saved Disney, made them viable, and ultimately the corporate power they have become to this day. Yes, there is some things he did wrong, but his hits are more common than his misses.

Jimmy Thick- Walt died in 1966

Another vote here. But I'll also put in a vote that all the CMs deserve more credit. They're what help make all Disney parks and resorts so much more enjoyable than that "other" theme park.

This may be a little biased, but the costuming cast members. (I'm a costuming cm.) We work to make sure that not only the characters have their costumes, but also the front line CMs that the guests interact with in the parks & resorts. Because we're not seen by guests, people don't realize that we exist.

I also say that CMs in general deserve more credit, but the front line CMs at least have a chance to be thanked by the guests for everything they do.

You mean the people the cast report to everyday to get their costumes for the day? That can't be an easy job. Gotta make sure everyone gets the right costume for what they are doing AND the right size with all of the pieces.

Yep, I'm talking about the people who give the cast their costumes every day. CMs pick out their own costumes, so they're responsible for making sure it's the right one & the right size, but we have to make sure every thing is clean & show ready.

Agreed. I'm an Eisner fan and it's a shame that his exit was so poor but overall, he saved Disney and turned it into a household name.

I would also go with all the people behind the scenes.

The custodians.

I 2nd that. Custodians are a vital part the parks. I rarely see anything dirty. From my experience they are usally friendly too. There have been multiple times when we are sitting on a bench and a sweeper or trash collector will stop to talk to us. Ask where we are from and what are plans are for the day. I always appreciate it when CM's ask even the simple question of where are you from.

Another vote is for anyone who does the pin trading. You know they get asked to show thier pins thousands of times a day yet they always do it with a smile.

Although it's not a ride, I think One Man's Dream at Hollywood Studios should get more recognition. Without Walt Disney's vision, we wouldn't have a WDW resort to visit. Plus there's some really cool things in there to look at.

Just a note about the custodians. The ones you see in costumes are the "up keep" custodians. They clean up after guests in bathrooms, empty trash and pick up litter along with cleaning off tables and wiping spills. The custodians that do the "deep cleaning" work at night. They scour and scrub nearly every inch of the parks (bathrooms, restaurants, kitchens, shops, walkways, fountains, boats, rides, etc.) at night and make it sparkle for the guests when the park opens. :animwink:
