Huh? You’re saying Disneyland has more rides than all 4 WDW parks? No. Just no.Less rides in all four parks combined than Disneyland has in one park.

Yes I know, but it sounds like they’re saying Disneyland park alone has more rides not factoring DCA in.Pretty sure we do have more rides. Maybe not now, now that Avatar Land is open, but we definitely had a slight edge with maybe several more rides. The numbers are surprisingly close. Ironic, since WDW has the “blessing of size.”

Interesting. I was confused when they said "Disneyland has in one park"“Disneyland” means both the park and the resort. When people here say they’re going to Disneyland, it’s assumed DCA is possibly included in those plans.

Pretty sure we do have more rides. Maybe not anymore, now that Avatar Land is open and a bug’s land is gone, but we definitely had a slight edge with maybe several more rides. The numbers are surprisingly close. Ironic, since WDW has the “blessing of size.”
@TP2000 Interested in doing another count?
I agree. Despite sharing some similar attractions, the two resorts are very different experiences, and a lot of the loyalty simply relies on which one you grew up with as your "home" resort. WDW, while requiring more money and time to get the most out of it, includes lots of opportunites for downtime and relaxing. A trip to DLR, for me, is insanely fun, but I would never call it "relaxing." It's like a huge party. It's a bustling, high-energy, fun-as-heck ride-a-thon packed with fans and locals and great food. My family and I hit the security gates at 6:30 AM and don't return to the hotel until 1:30 AM. Then we sleep for four hours and repeat the process one or two more times. And we love that! That, to us, is what a Disneyland trip is all about: Fun and energy. No downtime. Sleep is for the post-trip "recovery" day. That approach to a "Disney Vacation" is certainly not for everybody. As a frequent DL visitor it is interesting to see some of the negatives people list here about WDW sound like positives to me. Guess it is the "Grass is Always Greener" type thing.
WDW is corporate feeling and soulless.
Comparing shear number of attractions is a poor way to go. Cedar Point has 71 rides in a single park, more than double what Disneyland park has, but only 17 should really be considered headliners. Quality over quantity, is the proper argument, but that is entirely subjective. Some will prefer the versions at World some the versions at Land. And going only by rides, also ignores the huge amount of other things that Disney parks are known for. And ignoring the shows and streetmosphere, really short changes both resorts. The attraction roster includes a lot of garbage at DCA.
Yup. Corporate soulless.I guess I like soulless then?
True, but WDW has Dino-Rama and Aladdin's Magic Carpets. What I like about DLR is that all the attractions are close together. The attraction roster includes a lot of garbage at DCA.
Very interesting, but technically does the carousel at DCA count while its closed? Since transportation is counted as well, does the Friendship boats taking guests from World Showcase Plaza to Morocco at Epcot count?
...or a really expensive version of Castle Mini-Golf. Castle differences aside, I do not like that much central park space being devoted to show viewing. The center of The Magic Kingdom now looks like it was designed in Roller Coaster Tycoon.
