What was your best magical moment a cast member did for you?

Obviously, nobody expects anything for free, from the little to the big things, what did a cast member do for you to give you a magical moment? I love reading these stories as they always put a little smile on my face

Mine is as follows...

Back in 2016 we were in WDW on honeymoon (wearing our happily ever after pins) we were in Gaston's Tavern trying our first ever LeFou's Brew. A cast member clearing tables came round and we got to chatting. Mostly asking him his favourite hidden mickeys and rides etc, for A good 10 mins or so. He was really nice. He left to go carry on working. A few minutes later a separate cast member came round and said that Belle had heard we had just got married and wanted to give us 'these' to say congratulations And passed us two pain so chocolate ! It was so kind and lovely and Is now my claim to fame that I got a wedding gift from belle!

So please, cheer up my disney blues as I count down (139 days!) To my next trip!

There's a lot. But I'll go with most recent. I've got a 530e hybrid. I know about the charging stations at AK and EPCOT. Didn't know they've been added to MK. Last week parking at the TTC lot - as I pulled into my spot the CM mentioned that there were charging stations up front. I didn't ask...he didn't have to...but glad he did. Got his name and emailed Disney. Hope he got some kind of recognition.

This happened about 10 years ago. Elton, a guest services Cast Member at EPCOT, gave my family one of our greatest WDW moments.

We were walking when several pigeons flew up in front of us and startled my daughter, Elton came over to make sure she was all right. We had a friendly conversation during which Elton mentioned her "prize". When this happened we had been walking away from Soarin' after discovering there were no fast passes left and realizing we did not have enough time left in our visit to wait in the long stand-by line. Soarin' was, I believe, the only attraction at WDW we had not experienced. For her "prize", she asked for fast passes to Soarin'. Elton said "I can do better than that!", and off we went. My two children and I exchanging excited looks.

After walking for a while (with no park guests in sight), Elton opened a door and there we were at the head of the Soarin' line. Elton had a brief conversation with the attendant and we were escorted to the "best seat in the house" as Elton joined us for a ride we will always remember - he even "caught" the golf ball and gave it to us. To this day the subject of Walt Disney World can barely come up without a mention of Elton. He is the best.

There were so many on our honeymoon . It seemed like every meal the waiter or waitress made an announcement. Also in certain parts of the park such as the France Pavilion in Epcot we were pulled up and a French CM told everyone we were honeymooners and he told us to passionately kiss for the crowd.

There have been many for us through the years, two that stand out would be:

1) My wife wanted a figment coffee cup last year but wanted to make sure it was dishwasher safe. She didn't want to ruin the cup. The cast member spent about twenty minutes trying to find out. When she couldn't find out she told my wife that she would ship two of them to our house for the price of one, just in case one was ruined in the dishwasher. This made my wife's day and we were sure to let management know our happiness with this cast member.

2) We were at Mama Melrose's and we had the Fantasmic dining package. We were ordering and I wanted the frozen coffee drink. The waitress told me she didn't think they were very good. I think she could tell I really wanted one, so she told me she would bring me a coke and after dinner she would bring me a special frozen coffee drink that she would personally make and it would be free.

After dinner she brought me one of the most amazing coffee drinks I've ever had and let me tell you I have had them all.

It had a strong coffee taste but also was made with ice cream. It was wonderful. And don't laugh, yes it is a foofoo drink.

Anyways was she was one of the best if not the best waitress we ever had in WDW. Not just because of the coffee drink, she was just awesome all around. She received a large tip and a we also filled out an appreciation card for her.

That is actually amazing ! Especially as you still remember his name to this day. It just proves how something so small can mean big!

My daughter and I were doing the pin quest that they did summer 2016. We were in one of the shops and a woman had a question. My daughter was excited to help her out. A CM saw her and acknowledged her with one of the cards and a pin. The best part was the tie-in to her assisting another guest and sharing the magic.

Once when Disney was giving out dreams or wishes as part of their marketing that year we were visiting HS and in true me fashion we arrived to the Lights Motor Action show too early. While we were waiting around a cast member approached us and asked if we wanted to be the special family for that show. We got to sit in a special place and my kids got to open the show on the big screen by saying Lights Motor Action. They both remember that moment. For me the most magical moments we have ever had were just random moments when things worked out...well magically. I remember shortly after my divorce having saved forever to take the kids on my own. I was nervous to travel alone with them but we stayed on property to help with that. We went for my bday. We didn't have a cake so we went into Pecos Bill (only had a budget for quick service) and ordered these little brownie/cake things and found a table in a back dark corner. And my two children sang to me and we ate not so great cake in a so so quick service restaurant and laughed ourselves silly and it was pure magic. My favorite birthday to this day. That is what is so special about Disney to me. There are all these magical moments just waiting to happen and they are different for everyone.

My dad had his hat fly off in 1995 on Splash Mountain. They mean it when they say take off your hats. It was a lousy hat, it really was. One of those John Deere-like type of hats. Well, my dad being my dad he went to City Hall at the end of the night, reported it and two weeks later we get it in the mail.

About 6 years ago we stayed at AKL, we took the magic Express but our bags didn’t arrive. We went to parks and came back late and still we didn’t find the bags, I have 4 kids and the smallest is a toddler. Anyway when we asked about the bags they actually took us to the store that was closed, opened it just for my husband and I and told us to chose whatever clothes we need for the night, so I got a change of clothes to each one of us (all 6people) and the next Morning the brought our bags to the room.

I love this thread! My husband and I saved forever to be able to stay club level at the Grand Floridian for our honeymoon. When we got off the Magical Express, a woman named Katie was waiting for us and said, "Are you the Lastname Party?" And I was SO excited because it was the first time we were described as a "family." I excitedly said, "yes! That's us! We're married! This is my husband!" Hahaha, she immediately understood that it was our honeymoon and asked us all kinds of questions about our plans for the week. My husband noticed that she printed our itinerary on this really beautiful Grand Floridian stationary and he asked if he could buy that in the gift shop. She said it unfortunately wasn't for sale, and we moved on to our room. She showed us all around our room and had us go downstairs for some snacks in the club level lounge. When we returned to our room about an hour later (what? we like food!), there was a Mickey & Minnie "just married" Christmas ornament, a huge bar of chocolate, a painting of Mickey hanging out on the Grand Floridian beach, and a BIG stack of the Grand Floridian stationary! She left us the sweetest note about how she hopes we have the most magical honeymoon and that she knows how hard it can be to save for a special vacation but that she hopes these small mementos would help us remember it forever. They weren't small to us whatsoever. We were so moved, I ran downstairs to write a card for her. We'll never forget it!

We did an escape wedding at Seabreeze point. The wedding included a limo ride to and from the ceremony. So it picked us up at Pop and brought us to Narcoosees for our reception dinner. Our plan was to take the monorail at the Grand Floridian to the TTC and get a bus from there to get back to Pop because we no longer had limo access. When we went to get on the Monorail it was already closed so we went to the bus stop. After about a 25 minute wait, a bus showed up and we asked when the next one to the TTC would be. Seeing us dressed up, the driver Pat asked how we ended up there and we told her our story and plan. Without us asking, she called her boss and then told us she would drive us directly to Pop. So we had a private ride back to the hotel. We even took pictures with her which are in our wedding album. She was amazing!

I'm writing this for my husband, @aw14 -we had visited DW in the past to celebrate both my birthday and our daughter's birthday, but had never celebrated @aw14's birthday at Disney. So for his 40th two years ago, we finally celebrated in Disney for him! We were having our visit to Kringla Bakery in Norway where we all always get the same things, school bread for my husband and and our daughter, and a cream puff for me. Once we were finished with our treats, my husband threw away the trash and picked up trash that wasn't ours and placed it all in the can. An EPCOT cast member charged with cleaning put down his sweeper and came over to my husband and gave him a Mickey sticker that says "Honorary Custodian"-this wonderful man made such a big deal about my husband throwing away TRASH and was SO happy that he picked up something off the ground, that he showed his appreciation to him with a special sticker. The recognition for something so normal and small and insignificant made my husband's day! That sticker is still carried around by my husband in his wallet!

On our last trip to WDW, we made dinner reservations at Chef Mickey's. We were the first reservation for dinner and got there a little early. Upon checking in, we were told that we would be Mickey's special guests and "open" the restaurant for the night. They took my two daughters and threw out the red carpet, they had a Disney photographer snapping pictures as Mickey & my girls cut the ribbon for restaurant opening and my girls got to sign Mickey's big autograph book. They gave us free photos that the photographer took too. All the while, me & my mother in law are crying because it was just a super special moment and one that my girls would never forget. We still talk about it and that was 9 years ago.

 

[Occasional Guest]

About 8 years ago my daughter was 3. I went to buy a hot dog with her specific instructions on how she wanted it and told the CM that I just wanted the hot dog. No bun, no toppings, just the hot dog. She must have been able to tell it had been a long day. She handed me the hot dog and wouldn't let me pay for it. Magic moments don't have to be big grand gestures. Little things can be magical also.

Reading all these brings tears to my eyes. I have 2 very special moments. On our first family trip to Disneyland my daughter got to talking to a cast member about pin trading. After a few minutes he asked us if we had seen Aladdin - we had not. He said he is putting our name on the honor guest list. When we arrived we got entry without having to wait and got to pick up first seats. Thanks for our daughter. On our first WDW trip in 2010, we got asked to be the family out front of lights, camera, action. It was an awesome show and really made the trip special.

If we are talking about CMs at Walt Disney World, i would have to say my best ' Magical Moment' was in the day after EPCOT's 25th Anniversary in 2007 when i spent a few hours with the real Dreamfinder ( Ron Schneider ) and a pair of well known Disney fans at the Magic Kingdom.
One of the Disney fans had spotted me sitting alone on the monorail wearing one of my custom painted Figment t-shirts and asked me about it.
I told him i had made it myself to wear for the 25th Anniversary Event the other day, which they had both previously been commenting on between themselves before talking to me.
When i casually mentioned i had a part to play in helping to make that Event a reality, they freaked and immediately invited me to join them for the afternoon as they were going to meet up with Ron.
So that was a rather special day...and Ron and his CM friend made it even more memorable by giving us a 'insiders' tour of certain places.

A very close second place would be when i was asked to ride as a special guest in the MK 'Share a Dream Come True' Parade thanks to CM Dean, a long term resident of Main Street.
In 2010 i accompanied a co-worker to her first WDW visit and she was absolutely pumped that morning to visit the Magic Kingdom.
We arrive at opening and stroll down Main Street, and Dean spots us due to her obvious visual expressions of excitement at being there.
After talking to us for a short time, he invites us to be in the parade to which i'm delighted to accept.

My co-worker did not fully understand the scope of what had just happened until i told her after talking to Dean what that entailed.
When i told her we has just been invited to be a part of the afternoon presentation she was blown away and beside herself with glee.
I was pretty stoked too.
That was quite a experience.... riding down Main Street in the fire truck with The Muppets trailing behind you.
The short 'backstage' experience post-parade was just as neat...getting to hang out with those Muppets and some fun CMs.



Now, if we are talking about Disneyland.....nothing will ever top my 6 1/2 hours at the Park and Club 33 with Tony Baxter and a friend of his.
Talk about a 'dream come true'.....WOWee!
Hey, Tony IS a CM...always will be...so it counts!
Tea/dessert/dinner/2nd dessert at the Club, riding some classic Attractions, and spending lots of time talking about all sorts of things.
Nothing will ever top that truly amazing experience.
