What was the big deal with the Adventurers Club?

Well now we have a logical fallicy, because I am indeed the greatest thing since sliced bread, therefor you cannot be.

Unless of course we live in paralell universes. In that case we should ensure that we do not arrive at WDW at the same time, or else the logic conflict might result in PI reducing itself to a signularity - thus ending any debate of "is the AC comming back" once and for all.

Logic, rube, logic. :)

I went into the club once for about 20 minutes. I didn't get it. Nothing happened. Just a bunch of people sitting around staring at one another. Left and never went back in.

Same thing happened when I walked in with my first wife. Just hung out in the lobby/bar area for a few, couldn't hear very well. I told her I was pretty sure there was another room where more elbaorate shows went on, she couldn't care less, so we left.

One of many reasons why she's the first wife ;)

My NOW-wife and I went every time we could, and always enjoyed it. And by NOW-wife, I mean WOW-wife

The cast did an incredible job with audience interaction. The songs and joked were corny but fun. They busted their individual and collective keisters to keep you amused. If they opened it again...it'd be harder to go now that Slappette and I have li'l Slapperina, but I'd try.

I did the same thing the first time I went in. The second time I went is was with a bunch of AC regulars from this board and I absolutely fell in love with the place. I went there every single time that I could.

Rookie mistake. If you arrive in-between shows and think that it's only a quiet place to have a drink (which wouldn't be that bad itself, for some people), you might turn around and leave.

I always told people who'd never been that they should give the AC *at least* one full hour before they make up their minds yes or no.

Occasionally on these boards I hear people talk about how great the Adventurers Club at Pleasure Island was. Personally I never went once, and so I need for those who remember it and for those who loved it to tell me what was so great about it. Also, if you went and didn't like it, why not?

Was it a night club? Was it a restaurant? Was it a dinner theater type of place?

What happened at the Adventurers Club on a given night? And why did people (or you) go over and over again?

WHAT???
Blasphemy!!!:fork:

In addition to what others have already said here's my 2 cents...

I was only there once. I can't say that I was one of the diehards only because I only had the chance to go there once. But I will say that I've been to my share of clubs/bars/restaurants that serve alcohol...and some of those are "gimmick-y", but I can honestly say that I have never been to a place that comes close to the type of entertainment that AC provided. I'm pretty low-key and I HATE to be the center of attention and even *I* had a great time. It's a shame it's gone.

I can't believe someone else hasn't picked up on the idea yet and opened up similar clubs in resort cities all over the country. For some reason it reminds me of the "Dix* Last Resort" restaurants....most fun I had when I visited San Antonio, TX. Not the same premise but still reminds me of it.
