I just had friends come back from the World after being there 9 days. Anyway they were telling me that Monday, Oct 3, was nuts! Very crowded and it just got more crowded as the day went on. What was going on? I didn't hear anything speacial going on for that day.

Also they said the parks were very crowded the whole time they were there except for there third day, Sept 26.

They also said this years Not so Scary should not be missed!

Just my theory...

Based on the past few years of Hurricane activity in Florida and that most people (trip reports) said that the end of Aug. and most of Sept. crowds were very light this year; I think people that normally would have considered going in Aug/Sept are going in October instead and the month is going to be *nuts*.

I hope I'm wrong though, because I'll be there next Fri. for ten 10 days.

Alot of Florida schools were out on Tuesday for the Jewish Holiday so maybe they just made a four day weekend out of it and took Monday off as well. I know a few people who did this. Also, the free dining plan is effecting the crowd levels.

The Food & Wine Festival and the Free Dining has really increased the crowd level! Trying to get lunch in a sit down restaurant at MGM on Sunday Oct 2nd was a nightmare! They didn't have enough servers so the result was a long wait for a table, a long wait for food and very bad service, with lots of empty tables around you. Not a good scene. They desperately needed more wait staff, especially at Mama Melrose.

Don't forget that this past weekend was also Birthday weekend for MK: 34 years old. No special celebration but I hear alot of locals go that weekend for that reason. But I could be wrong?!?! :hammer:

And when did the free dining deal end? I know we couldn't get it for our trip starting the 8th?

I think that because it's Disneyland's 50th Anniversary and all the parks are celebrating the Happiest Celebration on Earth may have a lot to do with the increased crowds.

The free dining ends sometime this week. Not sure of the exact date.

Hot off the presses new Radko Ornaments at Disneys Days of Christmas

I was just there a few days ago and much to my surprise I saw that Christopher Radko ornaments are back at the store. What was interesting was that Radko has come out with a very exclusive Cinderellas Castle that is done for the 50th anniversary. All in gold and Christopher Radko is going to be there on the 21st to sign these pieces for the celebration. I have collected for years and am a huge Disney fan so it is natural to want to get a jump on these pieces. I pre-ordered two pieces over the phone and they are going to send them to me after Christopher Radko signs them, they even come in their own boxes. I saw the event on the Christopher Radko website and did some research. I am so excited and thought I would share.

That is very cool news as I am a Christopher Radko fan as well, but since your post is pretty much off topic, you might want to start a new thread about the ornaments so that others who are interested will know. :)

Rosh Hashanah is today...there is always a blip in tourism over the Jewish Holidays.

This weekend should be fairly busy with Columbus Day on Monday, some people are off school, and it is a long weekend for government workers.

I just got back yesterday. It was so crowded at the MK Monday. Every ride was an hour or longer wait! That was really the only CROWDED day we had. It was pretty bad. The FP were out by 2 or 3 and the lines were long and we skipped quite a few rides.
