What to expect to happen at a grand opening day?

We have a BoG ADR for 12/23 so we won't need to try for lunch (we also are doing CRT that morning; both castles in one magical day!).
Do you know what attractions in Fantasyland will be open for MVMCP? That's my biggest question.
IASW
Peter Pan
Philharmagic
Carrousel
Pooh
Teacups
Dumbo
Barnstormer/GG
Under the Sea (the new Ariel ride)

Hope that helps!

I would really try to avoid FLE on its Opening Day if I was you...it's going to be devoted mostly to media. There will be a lot of fanfare and flourish in the way of really enjoying the place. Lots of lookyloos.

My advice would be to check out the excitement if you want, but don't be disappointed if it's jam packed with people taking video and pictures. Come back the next day if you can to experience all the magic.

I'm waiting until the end of May to bring my family to experience this. We're waiting until the excitement dies down a little so we can just enjoy this at our own speed, without any media getting in our way. I want to savor every detail and to marvel at it all and feel like I am really in the movies that are represented there. I don't want to have that sullied with all the bombast of an Opening Day.

I can watch the Opening Day videos on YouTube because no doubt there will be many.
You needn't have waited. It's been open a lot...and is now open all the time...and isn't a madhouse at all.

I kind of felt like I was in the Mermaid movie the first time i rode UTS and hit the "Under the Sea" scene and when i was in the queue and saw fireworks going off above me through a little opening. I really did. Otherwise, it isn't quite as immersive for me as you feel it will be for you.

I hope it lives up to your expectations.

Just arrive home yesterday, Was a little disappointed with opening ceremony, because of the angle of the viewing in front of castle was hard to see I decided to view it on the video screen it front of the loop. Did not know when the tape cutting ceremony took place. They did open BOG castle to guest for a viewing tours later in the day but keep it a media center for most of the day. Little Mermaid must have the longest queue in the world even if moving swiftly. Love the clowns and the plates spinning performers at the Circus. Open day Merchandises did not seem to be selling out in the park but heard that the longest lines were for the pins at Coronado Springs. The Media was taping other items thru out the park beside fantasy land (like Sorcerers of Magic Kingdom).
