What to do? What to do?

Hi, my wife and I are planning our first trip to WDW with our 6 month old baby and are trying to find the best place (and cheapest) to stay with her.

I thought the family suites at PC or the All Star might be good choice. Do they have more than one room or is it just a bigger single space?

My other option is a DVC resort, a relative is offering me her points at a discount. I know, no question, right? So, which DVC property is the best bargain? She's essentially going to charge me half price for the room. Also, can I do the dining plan in this scenario?

Sorry for all the questions!! Thanks!!

Hi! Great questions!!

The DVC is the better deal - more for your money. :sohappy: However, I believe (and please correct me if i'm wrong), that you are not able to participate in the dining plan if you went with the DVC option. Now, if you were the DVC or an AP holder - then you could. But I don't believe that if you are using someone elses points, you are eligilbe. If you want the dining plan, then I would suggest getting a package. If it is just you, your wife and baby in the room, I think there is enough room to put a pack - n - play if that is the question about the space. Have fun planning your little ones first trip!! How exciting!!! :sohappy:

You'll have to run the numbers, but sometimes getting two (connecting of course!) rooms at a Value is cheaper than a Family Suite at All Star Music.

You'll have to say that your wife is staying in one room and that you are staying in the other (as one adult per room is "required") but we would just lock the door to the room my daughter was sleeping in securely (and sometimes put a chair, etc. in front of the door (sorry for all of you worried about fire codes!) and then put our daughter to bed. We kept the adjoining doors cracked just slightly while DH and DS and I were still awake, and then once all the lights were out in our room, we would open the doors completely.

Just my two cents! :)
