You could either:

1) Go to Universal
2) Sleep
3) Stand outside the restaurant
5) Sleep
6) Go on Oprah
7) Go Skydiving
8) Sleep
9) Make A Salad
10) Eat That Salad

All jokes aside, you could go around the resort on bus/preferred transportation and visit the other resorts...that's what I do when we have extra time.

Perhaps a stroll down DTD? I'd assume that you should get there 15 minutes early, I remember that being a rule somewhere...

So jealous that you are going to be at WDW in 3 days !!! We have 11 more months until our next trip !! I was looking at your name and wondering if you are in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia ? If so, I'm not too far away from you in PEI.

As for killing some time ... maybe Downtown Disney ??

Have a great time on your trip

+1, so much fun! Be sure to get a refillable mug and use it on your way to different resorts

Head straight over to FW after MK closes. Hop on one of the internal FW busses and check out all the cool decorations at the camp sites. You could also just hang out in one of the lawn chairs on the beach or the rocking chairs on the deck and just people watch.

I would head over to FW after MK closes... You can take one of the launch boats fdirectly from MK to FW...you might have to make a couple of stops....Then they tell you to arrive at the HHDR early....we went 3 weeks ago and got there about 1.5 hr early and I am glad we did.. First of all you have to check-in after you get your tickets..they take a family photo of all in your group..they will bring it to your table and ask if you want to by it for 29.99... ALso there is a trading post store you can look in and yes like a previous poster you can ride the buses around and see everyone's christmas decor... You are going to have so much fun and the food was great!
PS if you are a pin trader I could NOT find a HHDR pin at FW..maybe I was not looking hard enough BUT I did find one under the hat in HS!

Truly, getting out of MK will take some time, as will getting on the bus and/or ferry over to Fort Wilderness. Then you'll need to check in at HDDR, and get your picture taken as well. All of this will take perhaps more time than you realize. But, if you do have some extra time on your hands, you can walk over to the Settlement Trading Post and browse around. And right next to that is one of the loops for RV campers, many of which will be well-decorated for the holidays. :)

Aren't seats assigned according to "tier" ($) and "first come" (reserved)?

There are three "Categories" of seating, the more expensive usually being on the main floor and closest to the stage. But all seating has to be reserved ahead of show time, although it may be possible to purchase tickets the day of the show (or even right before it).
