What to do if Thursday is your first day.....

So, we are driving to WDW in August and it looks like we will be pulling into the resort around 8 in the morn. The room is not likely to be ready but, you never know. We are Going for 8 days. What park would you go to that first day? It will be a Thursday not sure I that would make a difference in your planning. I believe it is early emh for Mk.

Then I def would not go to mk since you'll miss the early benefits. Maybe AK? Catch a safari and see what the fast pass situation is on ee.

I agree with AK! Where are you staying, and do they have a nice pool? That may be another option, but 8am is a little early and you'll probably want a place to change or go to relax if it gets too hot.

I would assume you have an 8 day or longer pass as well, so that wouldn't stop you from going to the park every day?

Either way, I bet you are going to be so excited you won't care where you are! haha.

Animal Kingdom is a good park because it usually doesn't take as long to tour as the others. You have time to see a park, but also to relax after traveling.

Thursday makes no difference to me. Time of day does. How tired I am does.

I'd avoid whatever park has EMH, to be sure...unless it was my first trip to WDW and I was dying to see the castle. In that event, I'd go see the castle even if it were an EMH park.

I would definitely start with AK. Crowd level for that day is a 1.4!

Check crowd levels on easywdw.com. It's a free site. Heck though, I'd go to wherever your heart's desire! You can always grab those swimsuits and enjoy the pool for a while until your room is ready!

We normally get in early and then head for Epcot. We usually have a 4/430 reservation for Garden Grill and then look around a little and then head back for a good nights sleep!

Thanks luv! Very good advice! I have every day planned just was struggling with that first day. We usually go to Mk first but, we have never arrived on a Thursday before and those early emh were challenging me a bit.

I'll join in the AK suggestions. It may make sense to cross off one of your less important must-do's. I would even think a waterpark and/or mini-golf would be an enjoyable way to differentiate your vacation from your non-WDW existence.
