last time I was there there was some stuff going on around the castle at MK and now I was looking at the stuff about the moat being drained.. and especially with the new fantasyland construction that'll be going on, what they should do is have one or two characters per hour just walking around the perimeter of the construction area with a hard hat on and blue prints so it looks like mickey/pluto/whoever is in charge of whats going on.. little kids would probably love it and it wouldn't take anything away from the magic or such of seeing the castle then seeing a crane next to it..

I would not want to be at the Magic Kingdom right now with the moat being drained and Splash Mountain being "dry"....I really think it would snatch a bit of the magic from me.

I will probably avoid MK while fantasyland is in the middle of its major refurb, I cant imagine what MK will be like with stroller alley not there for them to hang out in.

I love the videos! The hard hat mickey is so cute!

I'm going in May and have been thinking about what it will be like with all the construction. I'm wondering how people will be routed, and what attractions will be closed or open. Also was thinking it might take away from the magic. It will definitely be different! I just found out I'm pregnant too so I'm not expecting this trip to be like all the other trips anyways. :)

Congratulations! How exciting? Will you be having a Disney themed baby shower too? :animwink:

THat would be a neat idea. But I'm not sure TDO would go for it. Having Hard Hat Mickey and others floating around could lead to guests asking CMs a lot of questions about the refurbs and expansions they may not have the right answers to. Then that information would find its way onto those wacky WDW boards. :)

You do realize that 90% of the current Fantasyland won't be affected by the expansion... At most, you'd have a wall along the northern edge of the land, running from the Pinocchio bathrooms all the way along past Playful Spot to the edge of Toontown Fair. Limited impact to walkways and attractions.

The only real impact would be the planned redo of the Pooh queue, and eventually when they relocate Dumbo to its new home, but that won't happen until toward the end of the project.
