Guess where im at....the WDW DOlphin...! Yippe!

We went to Epcot today and you all were wondering what those tents and stadium was at Epcot. I asked a few CM's and they "didnt know"(yea right) I was a few trailors with Paintball Game Advertisements and that cvould signal a new paintball stadium...the staium in not complete yet. But Im wondering...why would disney hold a paintball competition..

Hey sounds like youre having fun! Those structures you see are for a yearly robotics competition...I forget what it's called though.

It´s called F.I.R.S.T. I have no idea what it stands for, but it is a robotics competition, the national finals. The tent is set in the Epcot parking lot and is huge and with a/c.

FIRST— For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology

And it’s a really, really big deal. Thousands of people (mostly teens and their families) show up for it and it has big corporate sponsors. Admission is free so if you are there around the time of the events, I recommend checking it out. :)

Another Tent Question...

What are the tents near Fantasia Gardens used for? I would guess they are there for corporate parties or events. But some people probably know exactly.

Robotics Competitions

the tents and stadium are for a robotics competition called FIRST.

National issue, fosted by Dean Kamen (yes the seguay transporter)

First is an acronym that means For Inspiration In Research Science and Technology.

Basically a high school competition. The 'game' starts in January, with a problem and a box of parts. The team has 6 weeks to develop and build a robot to play the game. Regional competitions have been going on for the last 3 weeks, nationals take place the weekend of April 26.

My teenager was on a team from the Albany NY area last year and had more fun than competition. She acted as 'tour guide' for her team mates.

Going on 4/12 for our 25th vaction at WDW!

The weather is AWESOME! The crowds, on the other hand, are TERRIBLE! BB, TL, and MK were all closed today, BB was closed by 10! Disney Quest isn't packed, so it's very nice here :)

My brain is going blank...I know MK..Magic Kingdom, but I cannot for the life of me think what BB and TL is. Can someone help me out?
