What the heck is going on with 1-407-W-DISNEY today??

Original Poster
Tried to make my final package payment around noon. Their system was down. They could not take any payment. Asked me to call back in an hour. I did so.

One hour later, system still down. Asked me to call back in another hour. Did so. Still down. Tried one more time an hour later. System still down. Arggghhh.

I tried once before leaving work and the automated voice told me the wait time was more than 30 minutes.

Now I just tried again at 10:30 EST, and the automated voice tells me the wait is longer than 60 minutes.

What is this? Space Mountain? Grrrrrrr.

Anyone else have problems today?

Yes, the entire system is a mess. They released Free Dining on Monday, and it has been non-stop since then. My wife is a travel agent and she has been on 2-hour holds more than once this week, only to be disconnected or have them give her bad info, or be unable to complete the tasks.

Tonight, she couldn't pull up a client's reservation online to apply a payment. Phone agent took forever to find it and fix things.

Several people on these boards and on Facebook are reporting the same. It's a serious issue with their reservation system.

Wow. Thanks for the info. I was about to say glad it's not just me....but thinking about that statement - I'm not glad other people are going through this at all!

The system well parts of it went down today. Part of the dining is still not back up and running. Called several times today and the system was still down. They said they hoped to have it back up soon but did not know when. Still looks like some of it is having issues esp for Wishes Desert Party that reservations just opened today and has been down since about 1pm to make those. I keep trying online and same thing since early this afternoon. :(

You should have anticipated this and fast pass plussed your place in the queue 30 days in advance.

I wish they would do away with free dining. Reduce the cost if they must, but in my opinion free dining is one of the causes of both overcrowding and a general decline in the food quality.

Trying to use their website is 10 times worse. You'd think a multi-billion dollar corporation wouldn't have these issues. :rolleyes:
That it is. I refuse to do ADRs through it. The interface response times are just horrid. What takes about 15 minutes over the phone takes three times as long on the site and it's incredibly frustrating as it's doing it's calls to the dining system because you don't know if it's actually going to go through or if you are gonna see Donald (though, I wholly admit it's gotten better). Just easier to call.

Well I had no error messages yesterday when I messed around with some dining reservations. Couldn't find anything I wanted of course but at least no error messages...looks like the free dining offer swarm must have leveled off

Can anyone explain the free dining or point me to a post about it? What you have to buy to get it? When it is? My wife says a couple of the Disney pages she follows on Facebook have been talking about it...but she has no clue about it at all.
We are not looking to partake...just curious over the hubbub

You can modify existing reservations online. I was able to do it this week.
Only if you booked your original reservation online. If you booked through a TA or called Disney, you need to call to modify an existing reservation.
