DHS What should they do with Animation Courtyard?

Moth suggested over on IU that from her sources Disney hasn't quite secured the full Marvel rights and Simpsons and Zootopia have been passed on. So to her, she feels what Disney has in mind for AC is a Bluey land since they secured the theme park rights.
Hm, would be out of left field, but it wouldn’t be completely surprising. Though i am wondering how they are gonna stretch bluey out into a full land.

If it was a fully fleshed out land in the sense it used to be then I would agree, but I feel like Disney will slap down one ride and a quick service and call it a land

I do not think Universal is interested in giving up the rights and Disney cannot muster up a deal to Universal to get them to let go of the rights. Bluey is just what's going through my head since, well, another poster there did make a good point, why replace the only young child fare in a park hurting for it with more things that'd need height limits?

As I said in the Rumor Tracker, last I heard was mid-24 with Zootopia and Simps being thrown around. There's the rumors that Universal apparently is spitballing removing MSHI but IOA has bigger issues (Toon and LC) as of now, so I find it unlikely Universal will give up that until Lost Continent is redone, Toon is redone, Simpsons is gone and replaced with Pokémon and something is done with World Expo, along with expanding Epic Universe (Dark Universe and HP specifically).

I drew the conclusion of Bluey based on logic, something this company hates, so for all I know, Disney has decided on Herbie the Love Beetle land.

Here's the main issue with a land based off any preschool IP, those IPs typically have time limits, of sorts. They take over the world for awhile and then vanish with the wind. Will Bluey be relevant in say, 2030?

I could see Disney doing the classic Disney move and waiting years after something is in its heyday before making it a ride or land. I wonder if the movie coming out is them testing the waters and then if it does amazing they’ll do the ride 5 years later lol

Also wasn’t one of the questions asked during the meeting about making children’s content?

I think was more a question about steering content back towards largely being for families and children, without being wholy aware Disney is a multifaceted company and the production of something like Alien has no bearing on Bluey or something.

I’m assuming that, if Animation Courtyard gets anything before D23 2028, it’ll be a small replacement for Lauch Bay. No real demo.

This is where Bluey makes a lot of sense. Swap the M&Gs from Star Wars to Bluey characters, add a gift shop and an indoor playground. Then your lifeless husk of a building gets a few extra years of relevance for cheap.

Tbh I would love this, DHS needs more family/accessible areas and attractions
While Bluey doesn't seem like a good fit, since the appeal is limited to certain demographics, I do agree that each Disney park should have their own Fantasyland-like collection of darkrides that are enjoyable for all ages.

Imagine if Camp Minnie Mickey had opened as that. A Lion King attraction about the circle of life. A Pocohontas darkride showing how animals are integrated with the stories of Native Americans, an A.S.S.-style flat ride themed to up with Kevin's kids all pulling us around. It could have been a fun vibrant land rooted in learning about nature through classic Disney stories.

Not to mention that this could give WDW a new addition in 2026, since we currently have nothing confirmed.

At this point I'm wondering if the Animation Courtyard replacement will be for something we haven't even thought of yet.

I just heard a rumor saying Disney does have something big planned for Hollywood studios at AC and will announce it mid-May. Anyone else hear this rumor and does it have any validity?

Yeah. All good points! And the queuery of blues is valid, and im not sure Disney would do that!

Damn. I got no guesses. Literally none. I dont know what could be in AC. I guess, for once, Disney has us rumor loving fans exactly where they want us. Well played, i guess.

Also sidenote, I was a very strange child who LOVED the herbie movies when i was younger, so i would be there for herbie land DAY ONE.

I’m thinking replacement of the Disney junior show for bluey. It hasn’t been updated in years and all the shows featured in it have been off the air for a while.

If Launch Bay goes for Bluey, that allows them to shutter Disney Jr easier and use it for any expansion plan.

I think whatever takes up AC as a whole is going to come as a surprise to us.
Wild prediction: Disney swung for some outside big property and got lord of the rings or Sonic or something.

Never would happen but idk at this point lol

Maybe they put in a Bluey show, but I can’t imagine they don’t add a Bluey M&G somewhere too. That’s why I think Launch Bay might go that direction in the short term.

Regardless, I don’t think Animation Courtyard gets any real overhaul until Monsters opens
