DHS What should they do with Animation Courtyard?

Sadly there is no space between Small World and HM..... I would love to see Pooh get the boot and be replaced by the Disneyland Alice ride...next to the Mad Hatters Tea Party where she belongs... And boot the Fairytale Hall for Pinocchio...

Smart idea, however, I do not think Fairytale Hall will ever go away. It would made absolute sense that any princess meet and greets be found inside the castle. There's no room unless maybe the space the restaurant takes?

remove and relocate IaSW to area behind traintracks just north of Tron. Give it an entire IaSW themed area replacing the Circus tents, with Mary Blaire aesthetic and square trees, Fountain, maybe food and such, with entrance and que/boats laoding/unloading on one side of tracks and ride on the other, kinda like in DL. You could give it a plussed up DL vibe in that area.

Then replace IaSW with Tangled boat ride and tangled restaraunt replacing pinnochios.

Love this idea! This idea of moving near tomorrowland is so exact similar to what a once needed proposal was for Tokyo Disneyland with their Fantasyland Expansion.

I hate that this has a non-zero chance of happening. New biggest park fear unlocked, if they made a Fortnite land I think I’d never go to a Disney park ever again. I’ll enjoy my Country Bear show tapings at home, thank you very much.
If it IS really a large scale AC replacement, then i mean, the list of ip’s on the shortlist has gotten fewer. I’d like to think that there is ZERO way this is what it is, but idk, it gets more possible by the day.

I wonder what Len thinks of all this nonsense he inadvertently started.

I’m starting to think this “imminent AC expansion annoucement” might not exist. Something just doesn’t add up about it.

Think about it: an announcement on the WEEK OF EU’s opening, forgoing the rigid and established D23 status quo, in the animation courtyard plot, the one that EVERYONE was mad at Disney for not using for monsters Inc, with a mystery IP that nobody has heard what it is, or is willing to say what it is? Doesn’t that sound a bit too good to be true?
It might not feel right... but Len has a lot of connections and this thread kicked back up because of him. He also re-iterated that it wasn't sarcasm further down.
I'll go out on a limb here and say the week of May 22, 2025 - when Epic U opens officially.

I know he did, I was the one who asked him! And i greatly respect the man, But to me, there are way too many question marks.
  • Why would they forgo the usual d23 structure and announce it on EU opening Disney doesnt really SHOW desperation like that.
  • There is no real lead on an IP, as multiple suggestions have all been shot down (Zootopia, Simpsons, Marvel, possibly bluey, ect.) even Len himself said he has only heard “vague concepts”
  • Nobody else has really commented on it, not even Len, since the initial day it was brought about.
I dont doubt AC is gonna get replaced, and i would LOVE if it was NOW, but for me personally, until i hear or see more, there are too many question marks for me to go all in and put my full trust in it.

It would have made sense to have the AC reimagined in time for the reopening of VOTLM, but that ship has sailed...

Amazing we still don’t have a duck tales ride but we’re discussing Fortnite land as a possibility.
I don’t want people to get TERRIFIED, it’s probably not gonna happen ever. Just I feel like with multiple things Disney has said about physical things for the fortnite collab, and that thing that came up about mippetvision in Fortnite, maybe?

however, while I think it is a decent possibly for it to show up somewhere at wdw, maybe even a semi permanent thing, I still strongly doubt that Disney would commit on Fortnite to the point of a whole themed land, because that’s like 20-30 years lasting, and who KNOWS if Fortnite lasts that long. Even if it would be hilarious.

Maybe launch bay becomes a Fortnite experience temporarily? As something to fill the building before demo? I could see that!

Sorry for scaring people.

AND DISCLAIMER, NO SOURCE HAS INDICATED THIS WILL HAPPEN. FORTNITE IN AC IS PURE SPECULATION ON MY PART.

I mean Bluey was the most streamed show in 2024 and Fortnite has made over $40,000,000,000. I can't imagine all of the duck tales combined have made over a few billion.
I don’t have a problem with bluey getting a presence in the park. As for Fortnite there’s more to what ips go in the parks then does it make a lot of money?. I bet if you asked people young and old duck tales would be more appealing across generations.

Isn't half of Fortnite's popularity the fact that it's an IP dumping ground?

I don't know how you'd built a Fortnite area at a theme park that was anything like the game or that would even really be a draw to people that like Fortnite.

Easy, that's where you do your Fox meet and greets. Go ahead and do the floss with an Xenomorph. Hit the Griddy with a Predator. Skibidi toilet or whatever the kids say

Anyways, I feel this talk of Fortnite is getting us off topic. I do think the talks of Bluey pass the smell test though.
I 100% can see bluey in AC in some form. But i dont think it’ll be the FULL replacement, the full land treatment as some people think. I think we’ll get a new bluey show to replace Disney Jr. the one at DCA closed today so I think if they’re doing one, they’ll do both. Probably is a placeholder until the FULL replacement. Unless there’s reason to think otherwise?

Also, did anyone ever specify it was LAUNCH BAY getting replaced?

I mean, its certainly not exactly 1 to 1... but what people spend money on is usually quite telling of what is the most appealing to people.

If you are going to force an IP into a themepark, going for a high grossing one is usually the best bet (yes there are exceptions).

Going for the one which yields the best attraction should be the best option.
As a theme park fan, I agree.

If I was Disney, the answer is whatever one makes the most combined money. Smaller or no IPs can absolutely sell LLSP, however, they are far less likely to push merch, food, and even vacation packages. Which do you think makes more money? GOTG or Tron?
