What SHOULD be in the Castle?

Oh, I can understand the appeal of being in costume at WDW. But you can bring your own costume from home for a child to wear in the parks if that's all you're after. Does the "salon"-type experience somehow make the money spent for BBB worth it?

That's not what the customers are supposed to know. :hammer:

And as far as the glitter and junk in the hair goes...it's cute when your kid does that to herself at home, but it loses its charm when you pay for it under the guise of being "transformed into a princess". It's not elegant-looking; none of the Disney princesses look that silly....I just don't get it

The disney princesses are grown women. I for one would never want my daughter having that style of makeup on. The make up and hair they do is fun and little kiddish of course its not meant to look elegant. She loves the idea of getting her nails done and her hair done. I am definitely not doing the huge 190 dollar package. However 55 dollars for her to get hair nails and makeup done I would say that is ok, little girls shouldnt look like 25 yo women they should look like little girls. Also I dont know how your hair styling abilities are but between me and my wife its more or less a pony tail and that is the extent to our abilities.
I had a old co worker i was hanging out with question me even bringing a 3 yo there because she "wouldnt remember it". I followed that up with why do you give your 2 year old toys they dont remember them. To which i explained its not always about there memories but the memories we get and the expierences they feel. Then he questioned me about bbb costs as he finished his daily pack of smokes, I looked at him and said if you give up 5 of those you will have a bbb also.
Its not for everyone and i truly think they could move it..... I think a awesome spot would be the princess meet and greet. It would be perfect then the 180 dollar package people would get fast tracked through every princess if they wanted and get pictures while everything is perfect

Well, back in 1990 there use to be a shop that sold swords and things.

Liked it then. I have a collection of them on my wall. Now I have to shop at EPCOT to add on. It fit in with the castle motif, was an ideal place to sell royalty items, coat of arms, goblets, knight figurines etc. But as long as BBB brings in the plenty bucks it will stay. Not something me and my family takes advantage of so we will continue passing through the castle.

Something classy, i like the ideal of having a tour or even an area for cinderella inspired art? But i have no complaints as to whats already in it.

I guess some people feel it's easier to get all done up when in the parks, with help by a professional, then take the time to do it themselves before hand and possibly not get the same results. It also may be more difficult to bring stuff from home depending upon how you get to WDW, carying costume stuff one-way is easier than two on a plane.

None of the princesses look the way they do in the movies in most representations today outside of them. I don't like it any more than you do, but it's likely a case of the more "bling" the more Disney can charge and the longer the "experience" for the child.

A life-sized animatronic DRAGON, as they do at Disneyland Paris.

Dammit.

Now that you mention it, that would be nice. :D

The replacement for the walkthorugh at TDL is now an area with various types of Cinderella art based on both the Disney movie and other interpretations. It's no where near as cool, but it is something they could do on a smaller scale at WDW.

I loved the store that was there back in the 90's. I have a few things from that store. Most of what was sold in that store could only be found in that store. I have a castle t-shirt that I love (but don't wear much) from that store. Several years ago I had it on in the MK. While waiting in line for Splash Mt a guy in front of me told me how unique my t-shirt was because not many were sold in that store and that was the only place they were sold. My brother has several castle themed items from that store as well, goblets, a sword, etc... I would prefer that store over BBB even though we have 2 young girls who would love to go there. We can't justify the money or how uncomfortable they would be after a while all dressed up and caked in make up! Last trip we saw 2 little girls in a single stroller....the older on the bottom and the younger on top of her, all decked out from head to toe, makeup, hair done, fancy dresses, the works....they were sound asleep and all sweaty.

Is b__________gham palace censored?

Why, yes it is!

The present participle of Duck (or any rhyming word) is forbidden.

As far as what SHOULD be in the castle....I always thought a Magic Shop would be neat.

I like the idea of the plans for Shanghai Disneyland's Castle:

In a nutshell, the bottom couple of floors of the castle are divided into several chambers, each acting as a M&G for a different princess. It's a very organic and logical experience - you go into the castle, and inside you meet the royalty.

The spacial demands of the large interior results in the castle's bulky exterior, and is probably much too large to work in Cindy's castle, but it's a nice idea regardless.

I say they just make it a castle, access to every spot that doesn't hold utility and just give it a castle interior on every floor and maybe even make the top tower into an overlook. Make it cinderellas castle inside and out.

I feel extremely deficient, but I had somehow never realized there was a restaurant in the castle. I'm not sure where I thought the Royal Table was... I looked it up on Google Images and I was like  and then I was like :hammer: and then I showed it to my fiance and now we'll be going there for dinner in December...

Don't forget the boat ride in the castle, too. Shanghai will probably end up being my favorite castle. I like the park icons to be an important part of the park's operations.

No surprise that you didn't know it was there. The restaurant is not street level so if you were just walking through the castle, you would pass right past the entrance to the restaurant.

Make sure to keep track of your 180 day window. Reservations for Cinderella's Royal Table book QUICKLY!

Totally agree with this! That would be lovely, maybe with a few little hidden pieces popped in.
