The crowds reaction when the boat comes out, the music and the lights, and especially when Mickey says "Some imagination huh?" Gets me everytime. Let's just say I cry alot at WDW.

P.S. - I've been "stalking" these forums for awhile and I think you are a wonderful, funny and bright group. I'm glad I found my kind of Disney nutters.:D

Aww!!! Thanks for stalking us!! We are just a bunch of crazy disney nuts...like i've said before we are a rare breed!

The ride with the most meaning for me? Has to be BTMR. My first thrill ride, coaster and Disney ride. I was overwhelmed with the effort put into the ride just to make it fit the theme. We don't have anything close to that where I live. (Not even close to Six Flags theming :p ). It was a great first impression!

The ride that holds the most meaning to me is Dumbo, my favorite ride when I was a kid.

Another "ride" that holds a special place in my heart is the ferryboat to The Magic Kingdom. Back when I was a kid it took way too long for it to go across the lagoon but my parents liked to ride it. Now whenever I go on it I think back to when I was a kid and how the ride seemed to take forever, but really all it's doing is building on my anticipation!

MINES THE HAUNTED MANSION. I'LL ALWAYS REMEMBER MY AMAZMENT THE FIRST TIME I SAW THE GHOSTS IN THE BALLROOM...AND THE GHOSTS IN THE DOOM BUGGY.

I ALSO REMBER THE ORIGINAL FIGMENT AND ALL THE ORIGINAL EPCOT RIDES. THE LINES WERE LONG BUT THE RIDES WERE SO LONG IT WAS WORTH IT.

Probably Spaceship Earth. I just remember being a little kid and looking up at the ceiling and the ride and it seemed SOO big!

For me, it's got to be Splash Mountain because it's just a good old fashioned good time. It just exudes fun, fun and more fun. If you go to the Magic Kingdom and aren't having a good time yet, this ride will make you, whether you like it or not

I never thought the Magic Kingdom would shut down Mr. Toad. During the summer when I met the amazing lady who became my wife, the two of us would stroll around Fantasyland and would ALWAYS ride Mr. Toad, laughing at the silliness of the whole concept (the WORLD'S WORST DRIVER!), then get an ice cream from a walk-up window restaurant that was themed around the ill fated "Black Cauldron" movie. I think it was called "Gurgi's," and now may be "Mrs. Potts," but we'd get a waffle cone and sit on a bench overlooking the 20K submarines as they looped through the lagoon. It was romantic, and we said then that we would always make it a point to follow that routine whenever we returned to the Magic Kingdom. We did for many years. How funny and sad that every element of that scene has now disappeared. First the submarines, then Mr. Toad, then the restaurant and now the lagoon itself!

I tell you, this REALLY makes me appreciate The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Country Bear Jamboree, and to a lesser extent the other original Fantasyland attractions. You just can't take for granted that the 1970s classic attractions will always be with us!

The skyway from fantasyland to tomarrowland will always have a special place in my heart. For our 10 year "anniversary" of being together, my partner and I went to WDW. We each had not been to the World since the early 70's. After watching the SpectroMagic parade from Liberty Square(between Hall of Presidents and The Riverboat), I suggested that we take the skyway to watch the fireworks from Tomorrowland. We waited in line, he kept saying "we're going to miss the fireworks", we waited. After we boarded our gondola and got about five feet from the station the gondolas stopped. The fireworks started, we began moving, and we watched the fireworks from high over the park. Truly a magical moment.

The ride that I have the fondest memory of is Tomorrowland Transit Authority a/k/a WEDway Peoplemover. On my first trip to WDW in 1972 my 76 year old grandfather was with us. At his insistance, we rode the Peoplemover first. I will never forget sitting across from him and how he suddenly appeared to be much younger!!! The magic of WDW at it's finest!!!

Although almost every ride now has some strong memory tied to it, the Haunted Mansion has the most meaning. It is my earliest memory of WDW. I went very very young with my parents for the first time and my most vivid mempry was of the haunted mansion (specifically the creepy spiders on the webs going up the staircase on the ride). Growing up I was always trying to figure out how they created the special effects on the ride and its always been my favorite...even after I knew how they did it ; )

Peter pan is another stand out. More specifically because on a Thanksgiving trip one year, my friend started singing "Pumpkin Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Pumpkin Pie" to the you can fly theme song

There are 2 for me.

The Haunted Mansion. After the first time I rode it in Disneyland when I was 8, I knew I wanted to become an imagineer.

COP because it's everything Walt to me.

To me it's BTMR. I love the themeing and watching the trains fly by while waiting in line. Also that prospector who says "hold on to your hats and glasses folks, cause this here is the wildest ride in the wilderness."

Just walking into adventureland gives me that feeling in the pt of my stomach, I love that.

Definitely would have to go with BTM. When my friends and I all went to WDW we rode it eight times in a row without getting off, it was during the fireworks naturally.

But what made it even better is that we all bought one of those swirly sign thingies that you can program to say whatever you want...needless to say we programmed many a "naughty" message and swirled them above our heads the whole time...sooo funny. Ahhh, the memories.:p

Mine would have to be Haunted Mansion. It was the first attraction I remember going on, even though I was scared at first. My mom told me the Count from Sesame Street lived inside, and once I heard that I was OK to go inside.

Like some others I have two:

Dumbo--because that was the first ride I rode with my son on his first trip in 1997.

COP--because the Dad's voice kinda reminds me of Walt-'s and it's just nice to sit back for a few minutes and put yourself in another time when life was not as complicated as we have made it!

I have three. Mine would be:

1) Mission: Space, because I'm a Trekkie and I love the theming and ride;

2) Horizons, because it celebrated the future of humanity, and I always liked the Choose-Your-Own-Ending. I thought that was an cool idea.

3) Spaceship Earth, because of the whole spectacle of the whole structure, and slow, but educational ride, one of the only educational rides left at Epcot left, maintaining to it's mission of educating while being fun.

My favorite

The most nostalgic for me was our first trip to MK back in 72 my grandparents went with us and the first thing we did was the Swan Ride. Many people don't remember it or have never heard of it. It wasn't thrilling or exciting and I vaguely remember it ( I was only 3) but I remember my grandpa sat with me and told me that someday I'd be as beautiful as the ride. He was wrong, but that was the closest moment we ever had and he died just a few years later. Everytime I see the picture that my dad took of my grandpa and me on the swans though I smile.

My favorite ride now??? It's so hard to say we love everything. I can't name one. I do love the Haunted Mansion and have fond memories of my boys being little and afraid to go in and begging to go anyways and falling asllep in line and never waking up for it on more then one occasion then whining cause I didn't take them on it. Oh yeah and the face my younger one made after riding Mission Space for the first time was priceless.

Mine is the TTA. When I was 4, I was scared to death of Space Mountain. We went on TTA and went through Space and my Grandmother and Aunt were making a big deal about me being on Space Mountain and how it wasn't so bad. Everytime I ride it, I think of that.:D

I have to say Space Mountain because of the memories of my first trip to MK. It was raining and was overall nasty weather, and I got on the coaster 3 times in a row because there was not a line. That was a good first impression for me!

Big Thunder and Small World.

Big Thunder was my first coaster ever, and my dad and I sat in the back seat and little do we know that the big really was the wildest ride in the wilderness, and I was crying and swore I'd never ride again. So we rode Small World seven times in a row, then I was coerced to try Big Thunder again and absolutely loved it.

I will also never forget my first time on Space Mtn. Boy was I scared and had tears in my eyes, but I tried hiding it. But as soon as the rocket started, I balled, then laughed halfway through. I should ahve listened to my parents that it was fun to begin with!! They know best. Thanks Mom and Dad!:)
