What percentage of people do you think believe WDW came first before Disneyland?

Which is older, London or Paris?

Are you an idiot if you don't know the answer?
Interesting point, and knowing that answer won't necessarily impact your enjoyment of either, but in the scale of human history in Europe, the difference (and I looked it up -- about 200 years) between the two is fairly negligible*. As for the difference between DLR and WDW, the roughly 20 years between them is rather remarkable when you consider why Walt started "The Florida Project" in the first place. So those who go without knowing/caring about why WDW is where it is miss out on that aspect of its bubble-like quality.

* For some real perspective on "old," this article provides some interesting comparisons.

Why should anybody care if most people do not know...
The difference between Disneyland, and Disney World
Disney World has four theme parks
Disneyland is older

or anything else.
Personally these facts are totally useless and knowing these things does not make anybody better.

My Mom ... used to say .... You are going to Disneyland again. "This was back when I could afford Disney World". I never corrected her because I knew what she meet and it made no difference.

I've had co workers that live in the Jacksonville and South Georgia area complain to me that there is nothing to eat at Disney.
They have asked why I stay at Disney for 6-9 days because "theres not that much to do". These people have been to Disney several times but never realized that EPCOT, DHS, and AK were parks with "things to do" they would do 1-2 days and only go to MK.
They had no idea that WDW has actual sit down restaurants. They actually believed that the only thing to eat was fast food burgers and chicken strips.

I think the majority of people who were around in the 60s remember the Disney TV shows and Walts promotional pieces of WDW attractions and especially EPCOT and the community of tomorrow. They are fully aware that DL came first. The people who grew up without the benefit of Walt and are in their 40s - 50s and younger might be more confused. To them Disney is Disney, East coast or West and they dont know or care which came first.

Again, no.
yes...It would be like a Vegas fan thinking the Mirage was built AFTER the Wynn , Idiotic
No fan of Disney would think DL came after WDW thats as bad as thinking the Old testament came after the Gospels...lol
A NON Disney fan has an excuse of ignorance of the subject....A disney fan would have no excuse...

Relax a little on this fandom thing. Unbutton the top collar, wipe the Mickey ice cream bar remains from your lips, have a cold glass of something, and just take it easy. Everything is gonna be okay. Our beloved parks are gonna be just fine, regardless of who knows when they first opened.

I know when they opened, you know when they opened, many people know when they opened. But many people don't. And that's fine too. It's all gonna be okay.

If anyone thinks WDW was before DL....they are an idiot. Its not being uninformed....its just an idiot.

Growing up going to WDW in the 1990s I'd have thought WDW came first before that "other" park no one ever talks about on this side of the continent. Maybe once I was 16 or so, around the 25th anniversary of the park. All of the sudden I thought............"Wait, Walt was never here and actually DIED before it was built? What?" I was a kid, so I guess I can be forgiven for that, but there are adults who would be no different.

No
I would say that 99.99% of people KNOW Disneyland came first.
In fact it always irks me when people think I'm going to Disneyland in California even though I tell them I'm going to Disney World.
Its like they don't even know Disney World in Florida even exists so they certainly don't think its the original.

It doesn’t help that Disney intentionally obfuscates this fact. I know this is a reseller, but this shirt was sold at the Magic Kingdom.

Yes
They also sell shirts that flat out read “Walt Disney World The Original”.

And on the Magical Express bus they show edited black and white, grainy footage of Magic Kingdom while Walt reads Disneyland’s dedication speech.

I can see how some people would be confused, and it is unfortunate for Disney to do things like that.
