What other place in the world gives you a "feeling" that can compare to WDW?

We need time for things to happen.
Okay look, out of all the places I have travelled so far I still put Disney as the #1 place. There is a feeling I get from that place that is peerless. I am never more disapointed at flying home from somewhere than when I leave WDW. I do enjoy the all inclusive vacations where you just relax on the beach in Cuba, or Jamaica or Dominican and while I miss those places I also am ready to go back home for North American food. I get a feeling at those places, but its more just a relaxing feeling than anything.

But I certainly am able to appreciate other places that give you that depression when you leave them. In other words when you are there you feel you are in an "it" place. Here are examples for me:

Going soley based on this - which I take from reading it is the crux of your question:

No place.

I love my home town, I love going to the cape on vacation. I loved visiting Italy many times as a kid, but nothing has ever giving me that sick to my stomach feeling I get when leaving WDW.
Especially when you're heading to the early airline baggage check in at the resort on your last day and your doing the walk of shame...you know what I mean.....;) and you see those horrible, horrible people rolling their suitcases into the resort for their first few minutes of their vacation... God I hate those people.

I was there for a week and I still don't feel like I explored enough of the places I visited. I really need to go back and spend more time in Dublin and Galway. Also this little village I stayed in, just because the view walking out of the inn took my breath away every time I walked out the door.

Honorable mention............
Niagara Falls - It loses a bit of its luster because I go there annually and only live a couple of hours away. The Canadian side is where it is happening. Some people call it "mini-Vegas". Yeah, maybe. But the sheer beauty of both falls are worth the trip. Then there is going under the falls, taking a boat ride as close as possible to the Falls and then just all the other attractions down the main strip. Haunted house fanatics would drool over the place. There are 5 of them there with 4 of them being very, very good. There's the wax museums, the casinos, the IMAX theatre, the Skylon tower which gives you a lovely view. Definitely loads to do at that place and a good 2-3 and you can see it all. It has its history as well. The only knock on Niagara Falls is that once you get outside the main tourist strip the city itself is sort of a dive.

Interesting to note: with some controversy a brewin' lately, the Maid of the Mist boats that currently do those trips right next to the falls have been in the news. Apparently when the contract for the Canadian side came up for bid recently, Disney was one of the companies that placed a bid!

Oh, what could have been... :dazzle:

As for "that" feeling, I absolutely get it at Disneyland. For all the talk about how the outside world encroaches on Disneyland, I don't feel it when I'm in the park. I did notice the power lines when I was at DCA, but Carsland will block a lot of that out.

As for non-Disney, I really like the Toronto Zoo. Some of the exhibits would fit in at Animal Kingdom.

Also, the "Walking with Dinosaurs" arena show was really neat and creative. I thought the puppetry definitely seemed like something Disney could have done.

Augusta National for me. It's the only place I've seen that does it (everything) better than Disney. But you gotta like golf or at least beautiful grass & horticulture I suppose.
