What is your Opinion of Liberty Tree Tavern?

Had lunch here today, for the first time in about a year. We thought the food has been improved. And its nice they now serve the drinks in actual glasses instead of those plastic mugs with handles. The fritters were fantastic!! While the roasted pork sandwich is a little bit short on pork it was very fresh and large. I myself had fishnchips which I know isn't exactly exciting but it was really good and came with well done fries (nice for a change) and slaw. Overall we were happy with some of the changes. From what we saw on others tables it looks like portions are a little bit larger than the rationing they had been doing here. The party next to us seemed very pleased with the pot roast. The fritters though were the winner!

We've had dinner there twice. I feel torn about LTT because while I absolutely love the theming and the feeling of being immersed in another place and time, the food is exactly like things I can (and do - I'm a full-time working Mom, don't judge!;)) make at home from boxes and jars -- Stouffer's mac & cheese, Stove Top stuffing, Heinz turkey gravy, Hormel pork loin, Steam-in-the-bag frozen green beans, etc.

On the other hand, my husband and children LOVE the food at LTT, for the very reason that it is so comforting and familiar, and count it as one of their top 3 favorite Disney restaurants. They are adventurous eaters otherwise -- not part of the "I only eat chicken nuggets and burgers" contingent -- so perhaps LTT stands out to them as a welcome aberration when all of our other restaurant choices during a typical vacation (e.g., 'Ohana, Boma, and sushi anywhere we can find it) skew heavily toward whatever is most exotic (I do realize that the Disney interpretation of "exotic" is a very loose one), and least likely to be something we could find at home.

I feel like dinner was ok but lunch was delicious. I had the colony salad so I could save room for the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake and I was glad I did. Loved it. DH had the pot roast and really raved about it. A friend had the Pilgrim's Feast which is a turkey dinner and he really liked it. We have reservations for lunch for our upcoming trip.

Our family had dinner there a week ago. We were very disappointed:( We used to love it and dined there at least once on our annual Disney trips. After the refurbishment the menu was changed. They do not serve Johnny apple seed cake (the cake-like texture) anymore. It was substituted by thin sliver of dough with some cinnamon apples on top. THERE IS NO JUICY CARVED STEAK. That was our favorite food at Liberty Tree Tavern. It was replaced by cheaper pot roast. No juicy pork roast, replaced by salty HAM drowned in some gravy. No warm dinner rolls, replaced by stale-tasting, prepackaged ones (kind you can get at Walmart). Overall it was more of a Golden Coral experience and food, just cost us 3 if not 4 times as much. Very disappointed. Not dining there in the future unless menu changes to include better quality ingredients/menu. :(((

Undecided about lunch either here or the Plaza in June. Have been to the Plaza a few times and loved it but have never eaten at the Liberty. The kids, I am sure, would prefer the Plaza because of the fountain options, but they don't really care either way nor do they even have a say. :) We are eating at Be Our Guest later that evening.

Wasn't a huge fan. First of all, when we went, it wasn't terribly busy but they still stuck us on one of those tables where there's a bench on one side and two chairs on the other. And they put us right next to some other people who were already there. This was with plenty of other seating available. That's an instant negative to me. I try to avoid places with seating like that anyways and always ask for a different seat. If I am paying for a meal, I like some privacy. And the food wasn't great, service was just ok, and it was all around not a pleasing experience.

Same thing happened to us at Nine Dragons, they gave us a nice table, but huge empty restaurant and then 5min later they seat another couple right on top of us. I don't understand that.

I was really excited to try LTT on our Jan 2016 trip for the first time. I would probably not go back...however my 16 yr old daughter loved it.

Her review...'' It was like eating during a Revolutionary war battle(Wishes was going on outside lol) and the dessert tasted like Yankee Candles!''

Somehow, all that translates to she liked it!

We have not eaten here since the characters left. Before that the LTT was usually the last TS meal we ate prior to our departing for home the next day. We always enjoyed the atmosphere with Minnie, Goofy, Chip'n'Dale, and Pluto.

When did LTT have characters? We have been there several times over the last 8 years and don't remember there ever being characters. So I'm thinking they stopped it 10+ years ago?
