What is your favorite way to pass the time while standing in lines?

Hmmmm....what do I do while waiting in line? Well let's see, I usually just get a fast pass but if I'm lazy and just figure to get in the stand-by line, I'll most likely lean against the railing if there is one and talk with whoever's with me about Walt Disney World! Oh and we usually do some Walt Disney World trivia as well:lol:

What's a "line?" Between arriving early, skipping the middle of the day, going offseason the last few visits, and Fastpass, I honestly think I haven't waited in a line for more than 10 minutes my last two trips.:)

Oh, wait, I did wait for Tomorrowland Speedway (or whatever it's called now). I talked to my daughter for 20 minutes and found out what else she wanted to do that day. It was actually quite nice.

I have to admit, I do enjoy 5 minutes or so of "line time" for attractions with cool queue areas (ToT, Test Track, etc.) Especially the first time riding an attraction with a cool queue, a ten minute wait or so can be a good thing. (I want probably 20 minutes before my first Mission: Space ride!)

I usually listen to my dad talk to fellow line goers...many of them lately have been from England, BTW. If he's not w/ me, I just take in the scenery and sounds. :)

Passing the time in line

Disney has done this right! There always seems to be something to look at while you are in line. One thing that we do a lot of the time is look for the hidden Mickey's. You can always find Mickey Mouse heads wherever you go. Sometimes you have to hunt for them but they are there.

Of course, I also try to remember to find hidden Mickeys!

After a day at WDW, even John starts to see them everywhere- in the clouds, in his food, etc, etc.

I usually end up making silly faces back and forth with some cute kid in line. No shortage of those in Disney World. :)

We play, a game we invented and call, "The Waiting In Line Game", also known as "I've Got A Place". This is a 20 questions type game where one person says, "I've Got A Place" and the others take turns asking questions, "Is it in a theme park?" "NO" "Is is in a water park?" etc. You keep going until someone guesses the place then it is their turn to come up with a place. We'll play regular or cut-throat. Cut-throat means that the person has chosen a very particular and possibly minute spot as their place such as "the chair so-and-so was sitting on during dinner last year." It's a fun game and passes the time quite nicely.

I like just listening to the casual conversations around me, trying to figure out where people are from! I like to people-watch anyway, and there are lots of opportunities to do that at WDW.
