What is the worst job @ WDW?

I think I would hate to work on the ticket line. Just standing there in 100+ heat letting people in the park. Trying to help the people that dont get the whole two finger thing:brick:I'm sure they have to work at least a 6 hour shift.

I think Mousekeeping, cleaning up after people is the worst. I used to work in a hotel and it is always the people with money who are usually the worst - probably because they never tidy up for themselves.

I would hate to work at the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway. I found the loud engine sounds and the smell of gasoline highly irritating and I was only in line for 20 minutes. I can't imagine having to put up with it all day :dazzle:

Actually I have a friend who did it for their CP and loved it so much they ended up moving to Florida and have been working at the Speedway for over 5 years now and love it.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Guest Service. While it can be very rewarding to give information all day it's also one of the worst jobs at times. They take all kinds of complaints each and every day. People scream at them, complain about stupid things and sometimes get spit on. It takes a real toll on their moods and I envy them for staying stable under those conditions. :(

Well, let's look at the positive side....you may be stuck behind a computer in a cubicle in an office somewhere....but hey! at least you'd be working at WDW! ...and probably making a padload of money, too!:)

Uh, NO on the money thing, but YES on the fun (I just work there in July).

I second the nomination for parking lot attendant. I could NOT stand out there in the sun all day.

I agree - great blog!! I just added it under my Disney bookmark bar (I'm a Mac girl, too!)

Oh thanks! And a fellow mac person is good because the blog really does not view well with IE - and I think almost everyone uses IE/

I made it with iweb and it is super easy - you should try it!!!

There are new biometrics now - no more two finger thing (thank God! - I could never get it to work right, and I was by far not the only one). You put one finger on a glass plate.

There was a thread about the worst jobs sometime ago - but I don't remember whether it was these forums or not. Actually, I think it was SGT, because I seem to remember that most people responding were CMs.

The general consensus was cleaning the rest rooms at the parks (to quote one CM: "If it comes out of your body, I've cleaned it up").

When restricted just to attractions, one of the least-liked positions was the exit CM at JYI. Room is completely dark, then sparkly lights go off, and light comes up slowly - people exit ride vehicles, then room goes completely dark again. They call it dark and sparks. There is something about the lights going up and down and up and down over and over your whole shift that drives CMs nuts. It would certainly drive me nuts.

I am sorry but I have to say being one of the characters has got to be the hardest....not necessarily the worst!

Imagine those costumes in 100 degree temps and high humidity....NO THANKS!!!!!:fork:

It may be hot, but that is my dream job. Hopefully someday I will get it.

What about the person who needs to sort out and deliver all our purchases in the park??? We buy LOTS OF MAGICAL KEEPSAKES (or my husband calls them TAT:ROFLOL:) and someone has to deliver these safely to our room. I have never had anything lost which is amazing considering the amount of people who must use this service.

Actually the worst job at WDW would be to get stuck in an office somewhere and never see the parks.
Just you and your cubicle.

:)

You know, that actually might not be that bad. You get the perks as a Disney employee, you can go to the parks whenever, but you don't get tired of being in the park. I've always wondered if working in the park takes some of the magic away. Like if you go there for pleasure, you're really going to work. I've had that problem before after working at a retail store.

I think that anything that has to do with cleaning gross bathrooms is horrible. It must be some sort of fetish or something that makes people not flush, etc. Sorry if I'm too graphic.

I have it, hands down...hear me now and believe me later:

I worked on the AK Opening Crew on my CP and we got to talking with some of the animal handlers and one of them let us in on a little known part of the job description of the Rhino handlers. Basically, during mating season, the male Rhino's get very excited with no where to go if they are not allowed to mate, which isn't always. When those bad boys are all reved up with nowhere to go, they are dangerous on the Safari. They will basically go crazy, even ram the trucks if let be. SO...basically one of the handlers has to relieve them of there burden, so to speak.

THAT is the worst job at WDW!!!!!
