Without any traffic about 1/2 hour.

With traffic? Hours. I've been stuck in traffic for about three hours more than once. Once was for the opening of Planet Hollywood, another time due to an accident that had to be lifeflighted out. (I saw the helicopter)

It takes a good hour during morning & afternoon commutes; I try to time my driving too miss that afternoon one, but have caught it more than once. (7-9 & 4-6)

we've always had great luck getting out of there. by the time we get our rental (LOVE HERTZ GOLD SERVICE) and head on out, we're at our resort in 30 - 40 minutes... Granted, I'm from chicago, and 55 is a mear suggestion out here.. so I tend to drive faster than the locals who I'm passing...

You must have some really bad luck. I've lived in Orlando for 17 years and have never spent 3 hours in traffic going anywhere. There are so many alternates to take if you get stuck. The helicopter incident I can understand, especially if you were caugh between exits, but just bad traffic, get off and take another route.

We landed at MCO on July 6 at about 10am and we got on the Magical Express bus to go to the Polynesian. Granted we were the first stop but we were at the Poly in about 35 minutes or so. Were we lucky? Maybe...but I didn't mind :)

Last year we took ME and it took about 45 minutes. We were the 3rd stop (Wilderness Lodge and Contemporary were first). It really depends on which stop you are and traffice. I usually plan on a hour to get there to be on the safe side.

We have Cindrella's Castle for Dinner??

We fly in at 2:53 into MCO, and I just wanted ot make sure that we're going ot be able to get to the Castle (regardless if we check in or not) to the Castle for 5.50... thoughts?

You've got just shy of 3 hours. I think you'll be okay, but you have to keep in mind it's not just the travel time once on the road. If your flight lands on time at 2:53, you still have to taxi to the gate, get off the plane, get through the airport, get to the ground transportation, and possibly wait a few minutes or so for it to get loaded.

Once I get on that bus I want it to take off and bring me to the world. I hate having to wait and the ride always feels like an eternity. I have never actually timed it.

Not so easy if you're from out of town and don't KNOW any alternate routes (as would be the case for the OP, also), and are travelling with no other adults who can check a map. I probably would have spent the same 3 hours being lost.

Since you're arriving on a Sunday, you should make it just fine. Really, I was just joking because of the two bad experiences I had (out of 100+ drives) I would give myself a good hour for the 5PM weekday drive, though.

just a suggestion ... when leaving the airport, take rt. 417 instead of rt. 528 .... you get to skip I-4 and 417 takes you right to Osceola Parkway just outside of Disney .... go onto Osceola and you enter WDW right next to Pop Century and Wide World of Sports ... just did the drive today and it took me 25 mins ( was around 1:50 - 2:00 ) ..... safe trip and enjoy your stay

I was just going to suggest the same thing. Avoid I-4 at all cost. We can usually make it from the Avis garage to OKW in 20-25 minutes.
