What is the quickest way to get from MK to DTD

Hello, I'm trying to get from the MK to DTD without having to stop at a resort. Is that possible? I was hoping to take the monorail from MK to the Transportation Station, and go to DTD from there, but I have never done that before, and I'm not sure if you can, or ever could go to DTD from there. Anyone?

Hey there!
Honestly I think your best bet would be to take the monorail to one of the Monorail loop resorts and then take the bus to DTD. I would suggest the Grand Floridian, they seem to have the best bus transportation out of the 3.

Hello, One little shortcut we like to take is a short walk from the MK to the Contemporary, and take a bus to other parks or DTD from there. I think that will be the shortest route to DTD. And if you exit the MK and walk to the main MK bus stop, the Contemp bus stop is just a short walk from there. MikeB

Well they offer boat, monorail and foot, I can't see why they wouldn't put a bus on the route too! I've never used it though so can't say for sure

TTC does not run a bus to DTD
You pretty much have to go to a resort. You could go to POR and take the boat if you aren't in a hurry.

Unless things have changed very recently, there is no bus service from the MK to any of the monorail resorts.

There is no boat or bus from the Contemporary to MK. The transportation options include walking or taking the monorail. There is also boat service from the Contemporary to Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. The other monorail resorts, Poly and GF, offer boat and monorail service to MK.

To the OP, if you are planning to use Disney transport, I would agree with the PP who suggested walking to the Contemporary and taking the bus from there.

If you're in a rush, walking to Contamporary is probably your best bet. As has been auggested, though, you may want to consider taking a bus to either Port Orleans, Old Key West or Saratoga and taking a boat from there. It will almost certainly take more time, but the boat ride is quite pleasant.

A further option would be to bus to Saratoga & walk. Going to the Congress Park bus stop will put you within a 10 walk to the marketplace side. There's also a stop on the opposite side of Saratoga (the Springs? Maybe?) which would put you on 10 minute path to the West Side.

If I remember correctly, the one thing to keep in mind with the walkways between Saratoga Springs and Downtown Disney is that they close after dusk. Although there were no visible physical barriers to keep you from using the walkways, I definitely remember signs (at least on the one to Marketplace) saying that the walkway was available from dawn to dusk. Again, my memory might be failing me or things may have changed from 2006, but that may be something to keep in mind.

I must have always been looking the other way a few years ago.

There are signs but they refer to the unlit paths at the resorts not the main walkway to Downtown Disney.
