It's a toss up between:

Spaceship Earth,
Tree of Life
WDW Monorail system including the Contemporary resort, complete track system and TTC area.

The whole infrastructure including all roads, signage and services such as RCFD deserves a mention too.. An awesome acchievement.

i would say world showcase. for sevral reasons. the diversity of the countrys rpesented, the detail in all the pavilons, the idea to have people from that country work there, the theming agian is amazing. form the gift shows to the restraunts to the atractions.

it was a wonder to me when i visit for the first time in 91 and it is still a wonder to me.

How they manage tempature control with a two big ol holes on either side of this building is amazing to me! lol

I agree with SSE as a single answer, but I find the actual infrastructure and day to day operations to be mind boggling. Supplying food, electricity, workers, etc every day of the year to 4 separate parks, 18 (?) hotels and 2 water parks (most of the year) is just amazing to me.

Lisa from the Comedy Warehouse Improv show...Hot and Funny...an engineering marvel!!! (oh, wait, I guess Disney didn't really "engineer" her...)

The center of Disney Studios...the pin shop...:lookaroun

Actually, I have a hard time deciding. I think Illuminations RoE would be my vote.

I think that the greatest accomplishment is being able to provide what Walt envisioned on such a grandiose scale. He wanted a place that was clean and safe, where families could spend time together and all have fun. It's difficult to create a place like that with 100 employees and have most of them 'buy into' that philosophy. The fact that there are huge Disney theme parks, all over the world with tens of thosands of cast members providing this type of family friendly place for millions of annual guests, is a marvel. Doing this in a manner such that we can experience an almost childlike innocence, in the impersonal, cynical, fast paced world of 2007, is practically miraculous. Such is the power of a dream!

I would have to say the Tree of life is amazing and would take my vote for the world.

However Disney redefines new technology all the time. Look at all the shows that have amazing aspects or new technology that Disney creates. From the ride car of Indy/Dinosaur, tough to be a bug for full submersion into a new world, Soaring where you can fly over Cali, Illuminations and the globe, the most advance floats on the globe for daily parades, state of the art fireworks, I believe Disney was one of the first to do shaped fireworks on a daily basis, and who can forget the monorail. Each piece adds to what Disney is great at. Coming up with new exciting ways to entertain us.

Have to say though for Disney the one thing that takes the cake is DL's Fantasmic. Where else can you play on the stage all day, and walk on the seating, then come back later at night and watch true Disney magic.

I'm not familiar with DL's Fantasmic. How is it different than WDW's? (I didn't really understand the comment about playing on the stage and walking on the seating.)

To me it's Spaceship Earth without the wand, the architecture and symmetry of the structure amazes me. ToT is close though, I love the way the building looks, and along with the entire production of the attraction and decoration of the building is pretty astounding.

At DL for Fantasmic the stage is on Tom Sawyers Island. You can walk all over the waterside town part during the day. At night that becomes the stage. A lot of the same show aspects that happen on the 'island/mt' at WDW happen at DL's. You get to ride on the Rivers of america where all the water floats glide across at night during the show and water projections are placed and the seating for the show is the walkways in along the water front and New Orleans Square, each at different levels. There are no benches it is picnic style seating. The lighting towers and sound systems come up out of the ground all over the area, but are hidden in the day. It is truely amazing to watch the stage come alive for the nightly shows. If you have more questions let me know.

Top 5

1. SSE. It is just creative genius of engineering. It is stark, simple, beautiful, and impressive. It is also timeless.
2. The Utilidoors. If only management really focused on this concept of hidden behind the scenes, the concept these embody would be amazing. They define the whole "on stage/off stage" concept in practical reality.
3. I:ROE. Through both the engineering and creative implementation, this is Disney's finest show ever, IMHO.
4. The Omnimover. As such an integral part of the original WDW experience, this system while simpel and somewhat humdrum really allowed for the freedom of creativity that gave us Horizons, Mansion, SSE, WoM, Imagination, IYHW, etc.
5. The Next generation AAs. We are really starting to see integrated, life-like robotics. I think this could harken in a new era of grand rides (if only we could revive and then update something like Horizons with these. wow...)

That sounds really neat. What an excellent and creative use of space. Thanks so much for the information. :)

I'm sure you'll all agree with me that the wand minus Space Ship Earth is definitely my favorite design! :drevil:

Besides that...of course we all love the genious of Pirates Of The Caribbean!!!
