I read the news about the clubs at PI closing. I only experienced Mannequins, the comedy club and the New Year's Eve celebration.

It seems many are sad to see the Adventurer's Club go, what have I missed? And what's a Kungaloosh? My guess is a tropical drink at this club.

The AC was a themed night club on PI. It's premise was (sorry to use the past tense) of a club of adventurers that has the most outlandish experiences. It is time for the annual membership drive and guess what, you are an applicant. It has a cast of characters that interacted and entertained the patrons. You could stay there all evening seeing several different themed performances, or you could just drop by for a bit. Either way you would have a great time.

Kungaloosh is as you guessed a drink.

Old Kungaloosh Recipe -- Circa 1997

1 1/4 ounce vodka
1 1/4 ounce Malibu Rum
3/4 ounce Midori (melon liqueur)
2 tablespoons pineapple juice
1 splash cranberry juice

Mix well.
New Kungaloosh Recipe -- since 2000 or so
1 cup Daily's Strawberry Daiquiri Mix
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum
1/4 cup blackberry brandy

Toss it in a blender with enough ice to make it slushy

(Thanks to all ears for the recipe's)

Either one is very tasty. It was not your typical night spot. It truly was/is unique. I will miss it. Feel free to sign the petition. Maybe it can be saved and you might then have the chance to visit it your self

the adventures club is suppose to be an old fashion club that was for explorers. they do diffent routines. its really fun. and the other thing you asked is, it is a drink and bascially a catch phrase at the club , being only 17, i havent had the drink, but my parents did, and they really liked it. they make them for parties

Does anyone know how much it is to get into the AC. I want to try to go there before it closes, for one swinging wake of sorts for it. I'm gunna be there the 20th thru the 30th July

Even though Disney won't do a thing about it, I still signed.

My suggestion: Rename PI to 'adventure Island' and make the AC the focal point of the land

Current admission price is $23.38 (you need to get the multi-club PI ticket).
Or one "Water Parks & More" admission if you have added that option to your MYW park ticket.

We'er signiture 1367, and very proud to have signed it too. Come on everybody, the more names the more they have to look and rethink their mistake.

Signed even though I've never been there. I was looking forward to going eventually. Now it looks like I won't have the chance. As someone said on the petition: bad form, Disney, bad form. You don't close something popular. You PLUS it and make it even more popular. Walt's philosophy was nver broken and is still relevant now and will always be relevant. I don't know why anyone in management after him thought they had the right to "fix it" when it worked just fine.

I still remember the first time we went to the AC. We were waiting in the main room and the stone face started talking to my little sister, who was 4 at the time. She asked the stone face if it wanted to talk to our dad. Now, my father does NOT like being put in a spot light, so the rest of the family just sat back and enjoyed the show.

I don't think I could have laughed harder then when she said that.

Trip to WDW... $2,000
The look on my dad's face... Priceless.

Unfortunately according to Jim Hill's article the petition may fall on deaf ears, but that shouldn't stop anyone from signing.

It's funny, in all the trips to WDW I have made, I never went to AC. Didn't even know it was there!! PI was the big area you had to walk around to get to the other side of DTD.

I recently was looking over the information on allears.net and read about AC. My first impression: This sounds like fun! I will have to make a point to go there on our next trip. Luckily for us, our next trip will be in Aug, so I will still get the chance.

Upon reading the news this morning, we are going to make our first and last trip to Pleasure Island on it's last day of business 9/27. Called the spouse and we talked it over and the kids are going to go to DisneyQuest and we are going to slip over to Pleasure Island to the Adventurer's Club. We have tried to go on each trip and for some reason we were unable to - nothing is going to stop us this time!

Actually the first time we tried, it's a funny story. It was in 1990 on our honeymoon and they had changed the rules that you had to be 18 and show id and I didn't bring a purse to the island, didn't want to have to worry about it while dancing - so instead we went back to the contemporary and decided not to head back. Darn I wish I had a time machine. :ROFLOL:
