What Is Disney Doing Right at the Parks?

Any forum with avid fans discussing their favorite cars, sports, or theme parks can become slanted toward the negative as members convey a jaded message about the subject they love.

I know we all love Disney and keep going back for many reasons. What are some things you feel Disney has gotten right recently?

Disney springs, new fantasyland

With the change that looks to be comming for Epcot lets hope this trend continues in a rotating basis through out the parks.

Look, things are different...they are not the same...but if anything, even if Fast Passes suck, people cut in line, there's nothing like walking into any of the parks and just feeling immersed in all that.
Every park still has that magical feeling once you get in...it's like once you go through the turnstiles the music, the smells, the smiles are all out there waiting...

Disney Springs, New Fantasyland and Avatarland. Finally Disney is actually investing in attractions which is awesome rather than just spending all their money on DVCs (which may come back to bite them in the future due too many rooms being empty and attendance dropping due to not investing in attractions). I'm happy with Disney Springs, New Fantasyland is good but feels like it is missing that big E ticket draw and Mermaid needs work but is fine and Avatar better open with three solid rides and the best immersive theming on property and so will be a great addition.

Now all the improvements have come to FP+ I'm kind of warming to it but I still think the old system was fine and as they say, if it isn't broken, don't fix it. I'll get a better judgement on my trip next year however I'm still confused how booking FP+ 60 days out works for UK guests.

Honestly, I think Disney will eventually get Fast Pass+ right. It can be tweaked and improved after they get some guest satisfaction data. There is nothing physically making the system incapable of working since it's software driven. It's not like a bad ride you're married to for 20 years until they decide to change it (Stitch).

I have confidence they'll iron out the kinks or come up with a solution to make guests happy.

I wanted to mention that Disney's fireworks, music, and shows are still first rate.

I love Wishes, Reflections or Earth, and Fantasmic. I know some are getting long in the tooth, but they are exciting and still well executed.

Shows like Festival of the Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and Nemo are still favorites of mine.

The new Disney Magic Bands I've noticed a lot of people talking about. I think they are cool. The new Fantasyland I'm impressed with also.

After some lean years, I think that Walt Disney World is starting to turn around. From all that I can see it is starting now with he the new Mine Train coaster opening soon. I even rerode Under the Sea a couple of weeks ago. I beginning to enjoy it s better than my first time right after it opened. I am starting to see the little things that make it good addition to the Magic Kingdom. With the new management announcements this week it looks like Epcot is going to get some additional trendier loving care that is starting now with the new paint job. Also I do not think that a Star Wars addition to Hollywood Studios is far from being made public. I even think the work being done in the Hub is going to help improve the Magic Kingdom.

I can not wait for my next trip to see the progress being made.

The Disney bubble is unlike any other. Something that complex is going to have its issues. In the age of instant information, Disney has put its world at your fingertips. Flawless? Far from it.

I think an answer to this could go on forever. Disney is doing many things right. Everything from building new lands all the way to great landscaping. Its really easy to see the things that are done right all over Disney World.

Honesty, over the past few months it seems they are really starting to care about WDW again. Animatronics of the 7DMT, New Hub, Disney Springs, New Epcot Management, improvements to FastPass+, Avatarland (at least something new someday), new nighttime entertainment for Animal Kingdom. I hope they do something with the Studios soon or announce something. They have a long ways to go but it's starting to look like they are heading in the right direction again.

The My Disney Experience App is nice. When I'm on the go, I can pretend that I'm down there and imagine the fun I'm having instead of facing the reality that I'm waiting in line to buy a bag of corn chips.
