What is a good age to start dressing up for CRT?

How young were your daughters the first time they dressed up for a meal at CRT? We are eating breakfast there in a couple of weeks, and I am trying to decide if I should dress my daughter up in a princess costume. She is 3 months shy of turning three....do you think this is too young? I've read that nearly every girl is dressed up at breakfast....does this include the toddlers too? My DH seems to think it would be a waste of time at her age. She does not have a princess costume, so I would have to buy one (but I really do not mind). She could wear it to the P&P too, but I already have plans to turn her witch costume from Halloween into a pirate costume since my son will be a pirate too. Any thoughts?

Honestly, any child can be dressed up at any age. But, my suggestion would be to have a t-shirt for under the dress. Some of the dresses run really big and i've seen a lot of young girls showing things that little girls shouldn't be showing.

We attended the CRT breakfast when our daughter was one month past her third birthday. We did not dress her in a princess costume, because it was early September and about 95 degrees that day. She didn't care the least bit one way or the other so we put her in her Cinderella tank top and she was good to go. :D I would say less than half of the girls were dressed up, some as young as approx. one year old. (as in, not walking yet) So your daughter definitely wouldn't be the youngest one, if you decide to have her wear a costume. But she also wouldn't feel left out if she's not wearing one. Sorry, that wasn't very helpful, was it?
Have fun, whatever you decide!

I say dress her like a princess and take as many pictures as you can, she will enjoy those photos later in her life and be able to appreciate them. I also say, take extra clothes with you, just in case!

I think that dressing up your daughter as whatever princess she chooses, or you choose, would be just adorable! Whenever we, my best friend and I, go and eat at CRT we always cue and aww over the little girls dressed up! But personally I think it is cute for her to do it for photographs, but after that I would put her in an outfit that if god forbid she spilt food all over it it's not the end of the world! Because I think those princess dresses are kinda pricey and I would not be very happy with my child if she spilt food all over it and ruined it, but to each their own.

I do think they know, Abi was not yet 3 the last time we went to Disney, and she was just as excited about dressing as my other children...and remembers what she was dressed as. I think the dressing is fun, and you should let her.

My niece loved being dressed for the breakfast and after breakfast, we had regular clothes for her to change into. It was so much fun and the photo's we have are great. Also, the princess that you are dressed as when that princess comes to your table they tend to make a bit more of a fuss over you. Ignore DH, he has no princess experience, dress her up so she feels special and you get some great photos.

My 5-year old daughter dressed up as Belle and loved it!
But there were plenty of girls who didn't dress up, so I don't think it will matter either way.
However, take a change of clothes for the rest of the day, though. We attended the Princess Breakfast and then changed her into street clothes afterwards, putting the dress in a locker for the day.

When my DD was 3 one of her favoriate things was playing dress up. So when we went to CRT she wore one of her dress up costumes and loved every minute of being a Princess. We also brought a change of clothes so she could be more comfertable for the rest of the day in the park.

My daughter is almost 2 1/2 and we can't get her out of "beautiful pincess dwesses" (as she calls them). I'd dress her up -- she won't know the difference either way, but she'd probably love to be a pretty princess and you'll love the pictures.

How does your daughter do with being "dressed up"? Does she dress up for church? Have you taken her to a wedding where she was dressed up? Does she want to dress up for the meal, or is this just something you think would be cute?

If she's not into being dressed up, she may not like it at all and you'll all be miserable. I've seen too many kids dressed up b/c their parents wanted them too who were simply too uncomfortable to have any fun.

If she's all for it, go for it and take an extra change of clothes--you can stash 'em in a locker, and trade out for the costume later.

I guess that my advice is be flexible. Don't let this be a make-or-break decision. Either way you go, you won't be the only one who chose that way, so do what works for your family.

We just got back a few weeks and I have the most adorable pics of about 6 little princesses dressed up dancing and playing ring-around-the-posey at the Akerhus in Epcot. It was just as much fun for the mom's taking a million pics! It is a fun time, but there are just as many children not dressed in their princess attire. It would not hurt to buy one before you go, bc if you decide to buy when you get there the dresses start at $65.00 on property. Wal-Mart and Target have much much better pricing. My own rushing around..I forgot to pack my daughters! We bought an adorable Snow White costume at the Magic Kingdom and she wore every day she was there.

It's never too early!
My DD did not dress up for CRT on our last trip.
This was only because it was so hot & I didn't want her to have to walk around the park all day in a hot dress.
We are planning to go to CRT on our visit this year.
She may wear her Cinderella dress this time due to the fact that we plan to go back to our resort each day during the hottest part of the day.
Therefore, she can change clothes & be more comfortable when we return to the park that evening.
