It is a soft serve frozen dessert, not ice cream. This has been discussed in the other threads on Dole Whips...from Wiki (not my favorite, but a quick find)

the following is the actual ingredient list. The list is kept behind the counter at the snack stand and is available upon request. Sugar, Dextrose, Pineapple Crystals, Partially hydrogenated soybean oil, Stabilizers (Cellulose, Locust Bean, Guar, Xanthan, Karaya Gum, Pectin), Sodium Silico Aluminate, Vegetable Fiber, Citric Acid, Artificial Flavor, Sodium Caseinate (a milk derivative), Mono & Diglycerides, Sodium Citrate, Salt, Dipotassium Phosphate, Artificial Color Including F.D. & C. Yellow #6.



It does have a milk derivative, but I know people who cannot tolerate milk and have no problems with this product. If you have an allergy and not a sensitivity then check with your doctor, just to be sure. :wave:

Just to add-on...there are two issues that can cause problems in digesting milk. The more common one is lactose intolerance. If that's your issue, you should be OK with a Dole Whip, as I don't think sodium caseinate has lactose.

The less common problem is a casein allergy/intolerance, which my DS4 unfortunately seems to have.

OK, I tried one several trips ago and (don't flame me) I was not blown away by them. They were good, but it didn't make it onto my "Must Do" list. A few months after that trip to WDW, we were at the Dole Pineapple Factory in Hawaii and they sell them there as well, so I thought I would join the masses getting one and give it another shot. Again, good but not great. However, I have not had the float, so I think I'll try that in May.

If you walk into Adventureland from the Hub keep walking till you run into a long line of pople that are blocking the way. Thats where the Dole Whips are.

I have to agree, I tried it last month for the first time and it was alright, not bad at all, but not a must do.

I am glad I tried it and probably will try again but it will just be place and timing.
