What in Disney World gives you that infamous "Disney feeling"

Driving through the Gates onto property is the first one, after having the excitement build up from looking at all the billboards along the road from the airport to WDW.

I agree with Sailor Mouse.

Also, the smell of the water. It just smells different than the water anywhere else.

YES!!! The water smell is one of my fav things....especially noticable at Splash Mountain for us.....all the senses pick up the magic.....we love the music, the flowers/plantings, fireworks every night.....and of course every single thing about the Wilderness Lodge to keep that feeling 24/7 during our visit.....:king:

- Getting on DME bus from the airport to the resort...and seeing the good old signs on the sides of the roads stating which way each park is. And the great billboards they have for certain attractions.

- After check-in, eating lunch & walking to the bus stop to get to your first park.

- Walking up to the gates of the first park you enter, hearing that music they play throughout the park.

- Getting on that first ride & smelling that disney smell....you know you are in WDW when you breathe in that great smell

yes my list can go on and on also...it will NEVER get old to me

You all know that "disney feeling" all too well, that feeling we all get at disney world when we're at a certain place at a certain time of the day that makes us say to ourselves "why cant i live here everyday"
For me its walking around that area in frontierland by the splash mountain bridge and potc and all that right around dusk, something about that time of the day at that part of the park that makes me wanna just put a sleeping bag on the floor and never leave, who else has any "favorite feelings" about certain part of the parks or anywhere in disneyworld for that matter
Walking into the MK & seeing Cinderella castle!

Coming out from underneath the railroad tracks on Main Street, looking down at Cindy's. But before I can really get in the mood, I have to look at my 8yr old daughter. The magic of her face knowing "her" teacups are coming. Just priceless.

Now I want to go again.

Crossing over the bridge from Main Street to Adventureland.

Something about the transitions with the themeing, plant life and sounds.

Gets me everytime!

Seeing the first Disney Sign.
Seeing the Earfull tower.
Seeing the first monorail.
Seeing the toll booths.
Seeing the Hotel, be it the Poly, Contemporary, Fort Wilderness Lodge, Dixie, All Star, ...
Riding the first monorail.
Seeing the castle as we round the bend under the train.
Smelling the popcorn.
Smelling the hot dogs.
Getting the first fast pass for Buzz.
Riding the TTC.
...
Just about everything.

Riding the TTA, and hearing "Now approaching Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress" it gets me every time. :)

I as well enjoy the build-up driving from the airport to WDW and seeing all of the billboards. Also nothing beats taking the monorail to the MK. When that happens, I really feel that "feeling".

Getting off the plane and smelling the Florida sunshine
Getting into the rental car - they always smell new
Driving to the resort and seeing all the road signs
Entering onto Disney property
Checkiing in and everyone's so polite and friendly
Getting our refillable mugs and checking out the merchandise in the hotel shop - great selection last time we stayed at POR
Going to bed so excited and waking up so early because of the time difference, being first in the queue for breakfast and then going to the park with early entry - this year I think it is Epcot for us(Sun 5th August) and plan to ride Soarin at least twice that day
And I just love all the music outside of different attractions when you walk past - didn't think of this until a few days ago when I was watching some videos on Youtube - Disney Magic!
I could go on forever.......................................

word for word...i completely agree. you pretty much nailed it. Although, i think my favorite is the moment you walk outside in orlando for the first time and smell the humidity. it just smells like disney to me, and it brings back overwhelmingly good memories.

but, i must say, not many rides give me the amazing disney feeling. but, one that does it every time-the Carousel of Progess. It gives me chills everytime; it makes me want to sing along; and its a beautiful show.

awww....i cant wait to get there!

overpaying for really bad food :) Its just not disney without it

Yeah, sometimes I'll give the cashier at McDonald's a few extra bucks just to give myself that Disney feeling. "Infamous" is right.

But seriously...I think nighttime is a *great* time at Disney. I've asked myself why that is, and I think it's because there are few places in the "real world" where you feel safe walking around at night. Usually, come sundown, you're at home, indoors. At Disney, however, you can walk up and down Main Street at night and not fear getting mugged!

"Please stand clear of the doors.Por favor, mantenganse allejado de las puertas"
