What If There Was No More Alcohol?

No
Personally i wouldn't mind seeing the "bars" gone from WDW. I understand some people like to have a drink with their meal (and some say it improves it) but i don't see the need for getting tipsy at the park.just my 2 pence ,and i know alchomohol will always win out due to the money involved
I disagree. There's nothing better in my opinion than stopping in at the Rose & Crown for a snifter of Blue Label and standing at the bar enjoying it. They always do a lovely [healthy] pour and it just feels "right" being there.

Where would the people with annoying relatives go to escape from their family if there were no bars? Some of us need that tequila shot very badly by the time we get to the WS.

Seems when it comes to opinions on the topic, there is a difference between serving alcohol in restaurants/bars/clubs and serving it out of QS Walk-up locations. Interesting!

Thats because its soo bloody expensive you dont want to spill any when you are walking so seated is best. However given no one drinks I wonder who the hell is filling up the bars when Im there. Perhaps the alcohol is blurring my vision.
Fascinating. But true.

When I go to Disney drinking is last on my list. I don't see what the issiue is they price it so you can't get hammered unless u make over 6 digits. Even beer at 6 dollars u have to spend a lot to get hammered. I don't think I have heard anyone say they go to Disney to get hammered.

I don't need alcohol in a theme park. I do need a nice cold beer at the end of a long hot day.

I enjoy trying things at Epcot, but the theme of WS in my opinion is about the sights, sounds and tastes of the world.

If they did stop alcohol throughout WDW, I would open a bar at the crossroads area and make a fortune. The Ale house is always busy now.

I guess I'm in the minority here - but a few drinks have always been a part of the Disney adult experience for me and I'd miss chatting with Dave the bartender at the Tune-in Lounge over a margarita or not having a Lapu Lapu at the Poly.
So if WDW went dry, I think i'd go Bye.

Thanks god i'm not alone. As an adult in my mid-20s who grew up on Disney vacations with my family it seems completely normal to me to enjoy a couple cocktails while on vacation. My parents always did and it never ruined the magic for us. Not everyone goes to Disney with kids and sometimes this can change what is considered the "normal disney itinerary." While many people are running around chasing autographs my fiance and I like to sit back and have a drink. It's a great way to loosen him up so I dont have to ride ToT or RRC alone lol.

The longer I'm a member of these forums the more I see posts about drinking on property. Everything from folks saying they use the bus service so they can imbibe to discussions re: the recent announcement that Disney was getting a little stricter on their proof-of-age requirements (and the subsequent discussion) to trip reports where folks mention one of their trip plans is to drink. I also remember what a huge development it was when they announced last year that there would be alcohol on the BOG menu.

All this got me to thinking...

What if there was no more alcohol on property? Would WDW still be a vacation destination for you?

Would I still go, yes. Would I be amused no, I'd rather put up with My Magic Bands and embrace My Experience than the lack of alcohol at WDW.

While not at WDW I only have a glass of wine here and there but at WDW they have the best mixologists, the actual creators of such lovely offerings that the bartenders serve up. Never do I pass on the opportunity to have a Dads Lemonade at PrimeTime or a Blood Orange at Mexico or a Grey Goose Slush at France. I love strolling around the WS with my evenings drink. And yes, I have a healthy respect for life so I ALWAYS take the bus when having a drink. That margarita can have a punch to it (I'm really short) so I applaud all guests who take a taxi or Disney transportation when they have an adult beverage.

I thought the same thing as I was exploring FLE at night and caught the fireworks show from back there. The atmosphere just lends itself at night to a nice glass of wine. I never really understood the teetotaler thought process of the Magic Kingdom. From the get go Disney himself wanted to partake but he was a known hypocrite from his drinking to his mustache. Walt made sure to imagineer a way to make sure he and his buddies could partake at Disneyland. I'd find zero harm in offering adult beverages at all the sit down establishments at the MK. Really if everyone was responsible, I'd be fine with kiosks, but the protein spills with the rides at the MK, that could be bad for those who drink too much or in the day during the hottest hours.
Jelly Rolls is another fine place to decompress and have an adult beverage late at night. Yep I enjoy that place.

I find many guests are judgmental about others habits and pick at others, the worst being some former smokers. They seem to gravitate to the far off smoking areas then rag, they are on the map yet go there, there isn't a reason to go there. My DD had an inhaler from young and never had an issue with the 2 seconds it took to pass the smoking area on the Frontierland wood bridge, She does have issues with guests use of cologne and we've had to get out of lines because of it or have others go in front of us. I saw one woman at POFC, on a mission to go up a brick path to the smoking circle then complain to be heard. I was having coffee closer to the building and she made a bee line once she spotted this man just sitting where he was suppose to, mission just to whale on him. I see this behavior on the boards quite often from teetotalers too. I'm more whatever floats your boat camp. I'm not from the camp of buffets, 4 plates later, eat till you waddle. I understand some just love this aspect of dining, so have at it. I see others in the park talk to be heard about service dogs in the park too, jeez. I actually find the holier than thou guests far more irritating than the guests they look down upon as they tend to become arrogantly judgmental at times. I have a low tolerance for that.

Ignoring the other parks for a mo, World Showcase and it beverages are part of the cultural experience that the place is supposed to represent, OK I know its really about money but detach reality, France & Italy has a big wine culture, Germany has beer and wine in its DNA and the UK has anything it can lay its hands on. Mexico provides an opperchancity to savour tequilas that some of us have never encountered while the US pavilion proves you can make beer that tastes of water and Canada has a pavilion too apparently.
If it wasnt for this cultural exchange I would have never discovered the joys of grown up slushies or that Singapore Slings are made from the outpourings of the septic tanks on the RVs at Fort Wilderness.

It is all aprt of lifes rich tapestry and I for one want to pull its threads.

I think no alcohol would make it a better place. We quit going to F&W because of a few no-class idiots who forget it is a family place. But it is just like anyplace else I suppose...why limit the majority of drinkers because of the actions of a few mindless idiots?
Unfortunately the "a few bad apples ruin the bunch" thing comes into play quite often with things like this. Often those doing something responsibly or properly end up "punished" because of the other dolts who took advantage of a system or acted a fool after one to many.
