What if Disney went dry......

I agree with this. Prohibition is not the answer, we tried that. People need to learn how to drink responsibly but I don’t see that happening any time soon. The one thing Disney could do is they could limit the amount people drink and cut them off when they have obviously had too much. That’s a lot of responsibility on bartenders, waiters and people working at the drink carts. I’d actually say eliminating the drink carts would probably help a lot. If people want to get wasted they will find a way, but they don’t need to make it overly easy. At least at a bar or restaurant the CMs get a longer time to observe behavior and determine if someone needs to be flagged. At a drink cart it’s a 2 minute interaction.
They can do a semi Prohibition, where guests have to go to a particular set of benches to drink, under a green umbrella (The same umbrella that was the Smoking Pavilion for 15 minutes).

In Disneyland Paris, you can't buy alcohol from kiosks. I was told by CM that under french law unless it is a designated bar (different license) you can only buy alcohol with food.

So for me to buy as beer it was suggested I bought the cheapest thing on the menu which was a tub of tomatoes ( which were half the price of the beer). I said okay I'll do that then and ordered two beers (for myself and my wife), so had to buy food for each beverage.

Needless to say I declined as it was effectively putting a $10 dollar service charge on 2 beers. So we went left and went to the bar in disney village instead. But to be fair is only 5 mins walk from the park entrance unlike WDW.

...and why pay all that money for any vacation if you're gonna drink and get drunk!? You can do that at home for free!
But I am a non drinker and I would not mind if the Alcohol offerings were only at VERY SELECT restaurants and LIMITED to 2 per day per guest. This way Disney would still be making money, but at a slower rate. You go on vacation to escape your life and go somewhere that you normally don't go, why screw it up by drinking and getting drunk!? That's why I say there should be a limited drink per guest. Because not only are you screwing your vacation up for you by drinking, you most likely offended or mouthed off at someone and cause a scene for others travelling with you, who might be a little PO'd at you for drinking! YOU DO NOT NEED TO DRINK TO HAVE A GOOD TIME! YOU CREATE YOUR OWN GOOD TIME!
Fortunately, Disney defaults to treating adults like adults until they prove they can't behave like one. At that point, Security will intervene and whisk the problem away.

Yeah, but on the other hand, there are a ton of people who could stand to learn that drinking means drinking responsibly and not being a jackass. I've worked in the hotel industry way too long to think that those drinkers care about their actions when they're drunk. And I work at a rather upscale hotel.

I'd take that tub of tomatoes off your hands in one quick hurry. I don't drink, you wanted a beer- we could have split the bill and both have been happy. Next time you go to Paris, take a hick.

At the local high school, different parts of the year, law enforcement parks a totaled car wreck ( or what's left of the car) in front of the entrance. Friendly reminder- don't drink and drive.

I'm always so surprised at these threads. It's laughable how angry people get about having a drink in the parks. It's wasted negative energy as Disney is never going to give up the revenue from alcohol. Not ever. Not for a bunch of cap lock loving, pearl clutching teetotalers. They just don't care enough about what you think to stop selling it.

I think in all my trips I may have gotten a *slight* buzz in any of the parks. I don't know if I've ever seen anyone bombed in any of the parks either. Maybe a large group of frat bros here and there or a bunch of bachelorettes, but it's never impeded on my ability to enjoy myself. The "puking out-of control drunkard in the parks" myth is a boring narrative non-drinkers have to justify their judgmental stance on the matter.

Disney has the best drink limiting system in place: its way too expensive to get drunk at a park
