1. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3- When I tell you this movie struck a chord with me, I mean it. This movie has quickly taken a top 3 spot in my absolute favorites of all time, and while I do understand why not everyone adores it like I do, this one means so much to me. I’ve seen it 4 times already, and while I don’t do physical media anymore, I fully plan on picking this up in 4k just to have it. Absolutely adored this movie.

Took a day trip to Hershey Park, mainly to ride Wildcat's Revenge, the newest RMC hybrid coaster that opened up a few weeks ago.

As my 4th RMC experience, 3rd I-box track, the others being Twisted Timbers and Wicked Cyclone...this one was by far the most intense. In order to appreciate the elements, it's a ride that needs to be ridden a few times, as many of the elements are a blur on the first go-around.

Fellow coaster enthusiasts such as @TheOriginalTiki and @D Hulk have ridden the top tier RMCs like Iron Gwazi and Steel Vengeance. Despite not making it to those yet, just from video I would probably still say this is a mid-tier RMC, but out of the mid-tiers, this one packs a punch.

I have other quick thoughts on Hershey Park -- this was my first time back in almost a decade, and maybe it's because I've seen different parks in the past years, but "something" was missing from this park. If I could put it into a word I would say "charm." The park feels very coroporate, especially with the new entrance plaza. It also charges like Disney, but it isn't Disney.

What I also felt was interesting was park's lineup on paper is stacked.

An airtime whippy new RMC in Wildcat's Revenge, a grey-out inducing machine with SkyRush, multiple other Intamin attractions including StormRunner and Fahrenheit, a B&M hyper and floorless, a racing wooden coaster, a few miscellaneous and more, all adding up to 13 coasters in the lineup.

But for each of the coasters, many of them (sans Wildcat and SkyRush) feel too short. Feels like the park's precarious layout with the entrance far to the right and a linear path stretching to the left, makes it difficult to incorporate coaster elements into such tight spaces. StormRunner for instance could have been a top tier coaster if not for it being so short.

Great Bear (the B&M floorless), also suffers a similar fate mainly due to space restrictions because being build in-between a water ride and two other coasters, it begins well. But like a plane circling before a landing, it hovers above the park trying to find space for elements. And after the 3rd inversion basically runs out of room and heads back to the station. I guess I didn't realize any of this when I was younger but I found it to be very bizarre.

Did my first (and last) Boomerang as well. Jolly Rancher Headbanger Remix. I went home after that.

All in all though, it was worth the trip, but I'm also decently close by. Not sure where Wildcat's Revenge ranks on my overall list but it's definitely Top 10 creeping towards Top 5 behind I305, Velocicoaster, El Toro, and Superman - The Ride.

My Hershey Park Coaster Ranks
1. Wildcat's Revenge
2. SkyRush
3. StormRunner
4. Lightning Racer
5. Candymonium
6. Fahrenheit
7. Great Bear
8. Comet
9. Wild Mouse
10. Trailblazer
11. Sooper Dooper Looper

12. Jolly Rancher Remix

That’s fair. Hershey Park has gotten increasingly corporate over the years and it’s a shame to see. The coasters are still great and it’s got some charming areas still, but I think that it’s losing a lot in basically building on top of itself. I really do love the rides there. Lightning Racer is one of my favorite woodies, and all of their steel coasters from the past 20~ years have been a hit for me.

I’m interested to see the new entrance, but I’ll always mourn the loss of the original. And the old chocolate tour for that matter.

tldr: 70 hour work weeks which led to over 100 animator walk-outs. I know I was being melodramatic with my post yesterday, but this stuff is hitting me especially hard as a nerd culture commentator.

Yesterday's post wasn't clear as to who you were talking about. Thanks for the clarification. But something tells me that the people in charge of the scheduling won't be held accountable for their decisions; especially since they have the upcoming sequel.
