Excellent question. During the crucial brainstorming and writing processes, I try to listen to the sort of music or ambient soundscapes which suit the project. If it’s a more menial task (like cleaning up a massive map ), podcasts and such. Since it’s October, spoooooooooooky podcasts!

It really depends. I used to listen to a lot of classical when I wrote, but nowadays I just listen to YouTube videos. Or more often I’m writing at work.

Typically if I’m writing I go with background music relative to what the theme is (AK music for AK projects, Epcot for Epcot, traditional Chinese for projects set in Shanghai, etc) to feel the vibe. I can’t write and listen to talking so it’s that or nothing.

If I’m doing art or putting the presentation together I typically have some niche YouTube video essay going on
