What Hotel is the most immersive?

Out of the ones we've stayed at, AKL definitely was the most immersive and did the best job at making you feel like you were someplace other than WDW (or the United States, for that matter). WL tries to go there, but since you can't really have free roaming bison and elk on property and deer are too common, the AKL savannas give that immersive edge.

From the ones I have visited, I would say the Polynesian, Animal Kingdom Lodge and Wilderness Lodge by far are the most immersive. They all immediately take you to a different place as soon as you walk inside or walk on the grounds. I would say any of those three take the cake at DW and it's probably a matter of personal preference for theming as to which one is the best. Runner-up would probably be the Boardwalk Inn or Fort Wilderness.

I haven't visited Port Orleans or a lot of the other moderates yet, but some of those look fairly immersive as well.

Animal Kingdom Lodge is very immersive but it's obviously a hotel with an African theme. If the buildings were spread out like the polynesian then I'd put it at the top of the list. Port Orleans French Quarter is my top pick for the most immersive since it truly looks and feels like the French Quarter of New Orleans. Every little detail along the walk around the resort puts you into New Orleans. Grab some beignets and go sit outside and you can't be in any place but New Orleans. I'd put a vote in for the Wilderness Lodge except for the fact it's always 20-50 degrees warmer than any National Park lodge.

I cannot say just one is the most immersive. The Polynesian, AKL and WL are higher up on my list. GF and OKW aren't that far behind either. POR and FQ really are well done as well. Disney as a whole does a pretty good job of immersing you into the theme of whichever resort you are staying.

I'll just add to the others and say AK Jambo and Kidani Village by far. There's just so much detail EVERYWHERE and so much to do. We have stayed at Kidani Village a couple years back and are staying at Jambo House later in August this year. We can't wait to go back "home"!!

My pick would be the Animal Kingdom Lodge, especially because it's located further from the action. It's easy to be there and almost forget that you're even in the chaos of Walt Disney World.

Haven't be to all of them yet, not by a mile, but so far AKL. We loved that so much that for our big family trip in 2021 (for the 50th) we are talking about a split vacation to visit it again.
