What happens if your trip is not paid off by the deadline?

So long story short, I'm going to WDW with my roommate in August, and we're supposed to have the trip paid off by July 4th. The portion of the cost that I owe has been paid for since March, and I've given her my email and password to go on the WDW website on numerous occasions to pay for it and she still hasn't. I called her the other day and reminded her and she said she was going to do it that night, but never did. So I've texted her twice since then and I haven't gotten a response. She tells me she's definitely going, and I talked to her boyfriend this morning who says she has the money ready she's just been working a lot and hasn't gotten around to it. But I'm still worried in the back of my head that she's not going to pay, at least not on time.

Without venting too much about my frustration, I was just wondering what would happen if it isn't paid on time. We have the airfare all set, so I assume that she must seriously be planning on going since that is nonrefundable, it just worries me how much she procrastinates. =/

Did you try calling and asking for an extension? I know we got an extension for our deposit one time but not sure if that applies to the final payment date... But it never hurts to ask

If memory serves there is a TINY TINY bit of wiggle room, but not much. I think they may even call or e-mail you if it's not in on time. It's a company, they want to keep your money!! ;)

I noticed you say a lot about texting/calling her, even though she's your roommate. I think maybe you need to have a quick sit down with her and ask her if she's still going b/c you feel you may be being avoided, and maybe right then and there she'll sit down and make the payment!! If she does screw you over (which I sure hope is not the case!) if you have trip ins. you should be able to get most if not all of it refunded to you.

Good Luck!

What about she gives you the money and you pay it? Because ultimately, no pay = no go. So I'd find a way (since you're being the responsible one) to get your hands on the money she owes and you make that payment.

It sounds like she either doesn't have the money or doesn't want to go. I hope I'm wrong, but get a straight answer so you can move forward with your own plans.

No money paid this weekend would be an answer!!

Thanks! Also sorry, I should have specified-- she is my college roommate and we're home for the summer, so we're not living together again until school starts in the fall. I don't think she's necessarily avoiding me because I know that she has a lot going on right now, she has a couple of stressful jobs and some recent family issues that aren't helping (and I know from living with her at school that she is a huge procrastinator, so it wouldn't be unusual for her to pay the whole thing the day before). I hope she's not going to screw me over, she says she's definitely going and she's paid for the airfare that she wouldn't get back if we cancelled, so the question just seems to be whether or not she'll pay it on time. I'll call tomorrow to see if there's any wiggle room just to calm my own paranoia I guess (but I'm still going to tell her its due the 4th because I know how she procrastinates).

That might be a good idea. I don't know when we would be able to meet up anytime soon for her to give me the money due to both of us having crazy work schedules and her not exactly living somewhere close to my parent's house, but I might also mention to her that she could do that if its easier for her. I would just pay it and say she owes me, since we're going to live together in a few months so she can't exactly just run off with my money, but I don't have the budget to pay for her half of the trip right now. =/

I'm definitely going to give Disney a call tomorrow and see if there's any wiggle room, because that would just calm my nerves about the whole thing.

Find 10 minutes when you can call her on the phone, and have her give you her cc# over the phone while you put it into the website.

On one trip I was going with two close friends, one of which was a notorious procrastinator. I actually gave them a false due-by date that was a week earlier than the actual final payment date just in case.

I have paid up to 9 days after my final due date. I did call them though to let them know that. And they let me know at day 10 (after the final due date) they cancel the trip so heads up!

Officially final payment is due 45 days before travel on a MYW package. They will allow you to pay as late as 30 days before travel before it cancels - but it never hurts to call them.
