what happened to ...

Did I miss something? When did the OP say that the cannonballs were "whizzing by your head?"

I think it was perfectly clear what he meant by cannonballs in POTC.....
Is there a reason we're tearing this guy up?

I meant no malice in my post - just wanted to lighten things up a bit with all the sarcasm in the other thread. Theres no need to attack others for their questions or comments.

and the Norway ride?

holey moley.. that Norway ride used to be a touch scary.. and now they took the teeth out of it .. the boat used to come way out of the cave.. and now.. it doesn't come close
That's funny, I had the same memory.
I know it hasn't changed but I remember it differently from my younger days.

no sorry kids..

no but Malstrom boat used to come way out of the cave.. and now it does not..

and two, and I asked this of the kid working the ride.. who, of course, wasn't old enough to ride this ride back in the the late 70's when it opened.. it wasn't opened at first, I believe when the park opened in 71, and he said that lots of people ask him all the time.. didn't there use to be "cannon balls" which I assume were rubber balls that actually flew over your head, in the one scene..

and again.. I DID NOT BRING UP THE OLD POST of the jungle cruise.. but now I am getting tons of trash from it..

I'm not trying to be mean, I don't think any of us are...I mean, there is a whole thread going about childhood memories that people could swear happened that they know never really did, as it is impossible. And sorry, but that is what your 'memories' are. Because neither of these things ever happened. The 'I'm older than you, you weren't even alive, blah blah blah' argument is useless when you're up against CMs who actually work the ride and have access to the documents from when it first came out, as well as managers of those areas of the park, and people who were there in the same time frame and say it never happened.

Sometimes as children our brains remember things as different or more scary than they actually were. My two younger cousins could swear that the first time they saw Fantasmic, the dragon actually flew, and that the fireball was way bigger than it actually was. Did it actually happen? No, of course not. And the fact that both of their childhood memories coincidentally remember it that way, does not change the fact that it did not happen.

Amen! I swear, this guy is just trolling. No one could be THAT stubborn and keep bringing things up like this.
I say we let this thread die, so he can keep his "memories" to himself.

Ill have to second that. I would bet the mortgage that actual "cannon balls" did not fly over head. Do you know what the liability would be. The only thing I can imagine possible, is there was a projection of some sort that you recall during the attraction. I would guess that recalling something from 39 years ago verbatim is a bit deceiving.
