What Extra Magic Hours are you?

So I was wondering what the general consensus was when it comes to Extra Magic Hours. Are you and your group typically early morning EMH or are you hitting the late night EMH and running around Magic Kingdom at 2am? Or do you go all out and squeeze every minute out of your days in WDW and rise early and stay up late??

We primarily are a late night EMH group and are running around to all the late nights. Granted there are no young children in our group so that does make a difference. :animwink: To be honest in the past 5 or 6 trips I think we have only taken advantage of one Morning EMH but have maxed out every evening EMH available. This next trip I am planning on trying to hit Hollywood Studios Morning EMH to get fastpasses for Toy Story Mania but that could be all talk..

We LOVE the morning hours. Way less people! We get there early - hit up the most popular attractions...mill around the not so popular ones...then head back to the resort to swim/nap. then back out somewhere for dinner and more rides.

GWARSH I miss Disney World. Only 162 days...

I have done both but I find early EMH to be consistently good. The only time I have encountered a busy early EMH was at DHS during SWW. On the other hand, I am batting about 500 with late EMH. Some are fine but about half have had crowds that had me wondering if they started giving away free churros.

We're not an early morning family, so we never do MEMH. We sometimes do EEMH, but sometimes avoid the EMH parks to avoid the crowds.

We have done both as there are benefit to each. We like getting in early & getting things done before the park gets too crowded, but we like staying late because the parks take on a different atmosphere at night (Haunted Mansion at 2 am is MUCH better than 12 noon).

We never do early morning, only evening. I think once I actually made morning hours and that was 5 minutes before normal park opening.

I think for our group we just love the parks at night. The benefit to us for Morning EMH is better lines/ crowds all together. Which is great but I just love hitting rides at night. Just brings a whole new element to the experience.

I would LOVE to do both, but due to my family not realizing/understanding that I'm 20 years old, I'm "not allowed" to stay out until 12, 1, or 2 AM (unless they come with of course, but no one else ever wants to be out that late). So we usually just do morning EMH as a group.

We're so not morning people and I usually get up around 7am while we're there so MEMH are usually not possible. EEMH however are another story. In November we walked right onto IASW, Dumbo, Pooh and Space. We loved it!! The only MEMH we usually do is DHS. Other than that we try and avoid parks w/ EMH during the day and go back at night.

We hit both! Honestly though... I've never experienced a MH where the crowds were really low. They have pretty much always been somewhat busy, only a weeks worth of MH experience to go on though ?!?

Were not early risers back home but at WDW, were up with the sun,see my thread on " favourite time of day ".We love the quietness of the resort, food court and the parks.Latest we've been out is round about 12.30,no way can I see us strolling about at 2.30am unless were sleep walking.

I know right! Once upon a time EMHs used to happen a couple times a week for the same park. Magic Kingdom used to have a couple during our stay and I remember those sweet wrist bands we'd get. We used to collect them but I don't know why they got ride of those too. I'm guessing the plethora of extra magic hours was during that years theme. Too bad.

Oh nice. That is really interesting. So the time difference from Scotland to Orlando changes your schedule to more of a morning routine. I guess I never really thought of that. So would you say you its a major transition when you make it to WDW or is it you just adjust to a morning schedule instead? Do you prefer that or if you could would you try to be more of a late night group?

We get up at 4AM to go to work every morning so, morning EMH are it for us! Getting up at 6 is like sleeping in. I enjoy the quiet of breakfast and everthing early morning has to offer. We have tried EMH at night but, we are just to tired...I wonder why...

Good question, wish I knew the answer.Flying west I never get jet lagged, but flying east Iam shattered,so maybe that answers why were up early but the excitement thing is there also.Even flying from Scotland to Dubai which is east to visit DW brother, were sleeping for two days, yet flying home to Scotland [west] were fresh as the morning dew.The late night zombie trek at the parks doesn't appeal to us.I've witnessed parents arrive at midnight as were leaving with their strollers and the children are fast asleep:snore:

Having done both, I truly prefer morning EMH. I have always found the crowds to be much thinner than the evening EMH. Also, I'm much more energetic. The evening EMH sometimes has me thinking, "Let's just get this over". Not a good attitude for a fringe benefit.

 That's cool to hear the transition! Thanks for sharing. I too get a kick out of watching those parents at late night EMHs pushing their kids in the strollers as they are in dreamland. The parents are just so diehard it's crazy! I know it's going to be a struggle for me when we have kids. I spose it will be an opportunity to experience the morning side of Disney. :animwink:

We have always stuck to doing EEMH but the last time we did them at Epcot it was insanely crowded. We are going again the first weekend in May and Epcot is the only one with EMH so I hope that it's not like that again.:brick:

But, on the other hand we have NEVER done the morning ones because it is hard to wake either one of us up haha but I am going to try my hardest this next trip to make it a must do :)
