What ever happened to the Grand Venezia Resort?

I would like to see it go in. I think it will be a nice addition but we will see what we get because I heard that a new resort might be announced on Oct. 1.

A very good, truthful article. One resort that intrigues me is Cyprus Point, where Wilderness Lodge is today. From what I saw it looks rather futuristic - almost a low rise Contemporary neighbor. In a way I`m glad it didn`t happen.

Von Pluto - the Med land was indeed man made. As I mentioned, of all the Disney Resort sites this one would be the most lucrative. The company must be rather upset over it. I wouldn`t exactly say sinkhole, but the Med was given an official opening date but the site just wouldn`t take the foundations.

It reminds me of the old LBV villas/townhouses/apartments. But it's hard to say from a model we haven't seen in 3D.

That just gave me a great idea! How cool would it be if Disney made an underwater resort? Each room would have a balcony to observe the underwater life swimming around. The only problem facing this resort is being people like the sun too much to be without when they are in their rooms:brick:

You would think with the engineering we have today, they could somehow make that site buildable.

I`m sure they could, but the same as they could add Switzerland, Mt Fuji, Rhine River, Australia, and Russia to Epcot; lots of $$$$$$!

Well they need Switzerland's support ($$$) to ever build that pavilion, same with Russia and Australia. And as far as Mt. Fuji and Rhine River, they'd need money from Japan and Germany. So none of those would be fully funded by Disney like the Venetian would.
