What ever happened to Beastly Kingdom?

Now that there is a plan to change the ride in SE no one has brought up any speculation on what is going to change at Animal Kingdom. I think that many of us have frogotten about the change that is rumored to happen at Animal Kingdom. This is probably what WDW wants us to do, they want to distract us with one press release or rumor that the start and then start going to work on a project while distracting us. I don't know, that just may be my thought. The other thing know one has talked about is M:S. I mean there have been photos but I know there has to be someone with more specific info on what is going on inside that building while they finish up final construction, tests, etc. I also just want to say that I will miss SE, but I have read a lot of posts that say leave it alone and I just think that if Disney changes one of its historic rides then, the new ride or whatever will take its place must be pretty good. Just remember Disney only uses Really Great Ideas! -WDWfan2209

I don't know about Beastly Kingdom but I was talking to a cm at One Man's Dream for a few hours and I asked him what they cleared land for in Animal Kingdom. After talking to another cm, they confirmed what I had suspected. They said that it will be for a new roller coaster with special effects.

Actually the talk about AK has never stopped, check out any of the threads on Forbidden Mountain, the possible "Roller Coaster"/"Yeti" ride going in at Asia, and the path connecting to Dino-land USA on the far right hand of AK. The Beastly Kingdom topic is gone cause it seems that the Mythical creatures will instead be added to countries rathe than have a seperaete dedicated land, maybe that land will be used for another country in the future. Anyway, no one forgot, just the addition changed. ;)

Then does anyone have any knowledge or thoughts when ride construction will start? (not clearing land) I saw something on the TRravel Channel "Secrets of Walt Disney World" that could be related to the coming coaster. It showed something moving fast by a large animatronic sabertooth or monster. (couldn't reall tell)

Possibility of attraction opening around Sep 2005, with construction beginning around fall 2003.

Could've sworn it was a Chinese dragon... I've created Chinese dragon artwork... And that looked like a Chinese dragon...

that technically aint true, look at JII. they might be putting something new in for the publicity and such,or maybe to save money since the current se probably isnt one of the most cost efficient rides.but ya never know. with beastly, even if they try to distract us it wont work. around here even if like one little stone on a pathway is replaced everyone will know within the hour so once contruction starts youll know soon enough. Ok for some reason i got that video of the steel for the ak tree flying above the castle stuck in my head after rereading what i just wrote.

Just for the record, it is more important in management's eyes that they *look* like they are adding something to AK than actually *building* anything.
